No release tonight.
We've been bogged down by some.. stuff, this week. Hopefully this "stuff" will be wrapped in the immediate future. We do have some cool other development in the works (UI-related), and I have a whole laundry-list of capship changes and tweaks and things to do. Ray thinks he'll have one of his major projects done by Monday, so we'll be looking at some kind of release next week.
Please keep the posts on Suggestions coming, I am reading them even when I don't respond directly.

I bet Lecter thinks this was your best work ever.... :P
Hopefully you guys will consider squashing some of the bugs that have been cropping up before you get too involved with adding more to the game.
Before you get deep into the cap ship stuff I think perhaps it is time to start getting the faction redux underway - Several elements of the faction system may alter the difficulty of crafting items that have faction specific components or are located in faction space.
If you guys get hungry say so in 100 and maybe we will send you some pizza and soda. (I doubt they will allow delivery of beer)

Bug-squashing is generally high on my list. Some of the capship tweaks are very simple too, but yes, I concur that bugs are more critical.
In any case, we'll look at sorting the priorities next week.

I concur with PaKettle. Aside from making Ion Storms stable again, the Faction Redux should be a high priority item, and not just because of the reasons PaKettle mentioned.
Glad to hear that things are moving forward, though.

Faction redux???
Don't ye think da next priority in a long usefulness devs strategy, right following da player owned cappies, should be landing on planets? : ]

I have been deep-set in negotiations with the political left and the social right of the Vendetta Online Community (VOCOM) for some time now, and we have come together to offer a bipartisan solution (BISOL). The synergy of the community and the energizing of the ineffable redux has been a growing concern for all affluent and verbose members of VOCOM for a not insignificant number of years now, and it is our view that only the BISOL has the political backing and innovative thinking needed to push it through to completion despite the attacks of the undesirable element.
The solution we offer has, in addition to the obvious benefit of moving us forward from the stagnant position of inactivity, a number of benefit that will surely be clear to anyone who has the time to read it. It may at times seem that the silent minority of players has been ignored by the VOCOM discussion of the way forward for our great community, but I assure you, even the most bizarre of players (Semen Face) has been taken into consideration during the talks that have resulted in VOCOM. During our conversations we have taken on the roles of every type of individual that may play Vendetta Online (VO), and have very carefully constructed the sorts of limiting mechanics that will need to be put in place to keep their actions inline with the wishes of VOCOM.
The BISOL, however, is more than just a long list of activities that will need to be governed by the new system of checks and balances. Rather, it is a new step forward, and a synergy of the old capabilities with the innovative freedoms allowed for by the new implementation of the old system of control. The new job markets opened by the BISOL are staggering, promising to employ nearly all of the players of VO in gainful activities that contribute to the wellbeing of the community by the end of the year. These activities will allow the players to feel as though they accomplish something, and help the community to regulate itself with a system of fair and balanced punishments for undesirable activities.
Anyway, I believe the BISOL speaks for itself, and so I am presenting some of its innovative and clever capabilities, planned for deployment as soon as possible (ASAP).
* A severe limitation of non-sanctioned PvP. Players engaged in such unsavory activities will be sent to a special jail system, where they can contemplate just how naughty they've been.
* An introduction of a new class of player: the peacekeeper. These trusted members of the community have already been chosen to patrol the areas of the universe where players may still interact and preempt the naughty, naughty players from engaging in naughty, naughty activities. In particular, the peacekeepers will be responsible for punishing players for actions that are hard to detect algorithmically: lying to people, bumping into players near stations, threatening people, stealing peoples' bot kills, stealing peoples' cargo while they're not looking and heating up asteroids to unreasonable temperatures. To facilitate the peacekeepers' activities they will be given limited guide powers, as well as the ability to promote players they find to be trustworthy to their own rank.
* A new, fair, trading system. Each player will now have their own price for each cargo at each station, rather than having one price shared across all players. This will prevent the unfortunate and undesirable effect of hauling a ton of cargo only to discover that someone else had tanked the price before you were able to sell.
* A special "protected" mode, for players that would rather not be attacked willy-nilly. This mode, activated at any station, prevents other players and bots from damaging the protected player's ship. A player can therefore trade or mine in peace, without worrying about unwanted attention, as our founding fathers had intended. It may be turned off for approved duels and wars.
* A new faction system, where the only way to gain faction standing with a particular faction is when players that are well-liked by that faction vote for your inclusion in the clique. Similarly, a vote can be held to ostracise people that don't match the faction's desired level of cattiness.
* A return of the catgirl-based crafting system.
* A new docking system, where a player can have his ship dock automatically with a press of a button, from anywhere in the station's sector. Sectors with more than one station will pop up a dialog asking which station to dock with, as well as a dialog to confirm and one more, just to be sure.
These are just a few of the critical elements of the BISOL, but I think it should be clear to everyone now that this is an item of the highest priority. The full agreement has been sent to the devs and will be implemented in short order.
As chairman of the VOCOM, I would like to thank all of the members for their input and help in compiling this newest and imminent plan of action.

But nice irony ......

For a moment I thought genka might have contributed. Then I got to A severe limitation... .
I, for one, would welcome a return to the catgirl-based crafting system
