New Descriptions of the Races...
Assuming the developers agree with this...
We all realize that the descriptions of the major races need to be revamped, we also have some talented writers here. Heres the deal.
1. Write a description of each race, from the perspective of a member of that race. It must be in keeping with the back story.
2. From the perspective of each race, write a description of the other two races. These descriptions should be brief.
3. The part that benefits the person with the best description... (assuming that the devs go for this, and replace the existing descriptions with the best player created descriptions)... I will pay for a three to six month subscription (to be determined by various factors.).
[EDIT]
4. All persons entering this competition acknowledge that all submitted entries are the exclusive property of Guild Software. Furthermore, Guild Software's use of said entries does not represent any obligation from Guild Software to the person who's submission is determined to be the winning submission. Under the terms of this competition, Guild Software is under no legal obligations to compensate the writer of the winning submission. Winning this competition does not represent or imply employment by Guild Software, nor does it entitle anyone to anything (apart from the paid subscription which I as a player of VO and not an employee of Guild Software has offered).
All entries are considered to be the exclusive property of Guild Software.
Posting an entry for consideration will be considered acceptance of these terms and Guild Software is not responsible if you cannot read or don't understand this.

While I like the idea of different perspectives overall, there are legal issues with #3. The content would have to somehow become the property of GSW if they were going to adopt it.
Fair enough... added a number 4. Tried to make it as legal sounding as I could, maybe Lecter could take a look at it and fine tune/rewrite it?
As for determining the winner... obviously, the Devs have final say but there isn't any reason we could not vote on it too.

Despite the "Deja vu", seems good idea... And even if GS won't use it, we should upload the best into VO-WIKI.
Also, seems a good idea that each real person to write from his/her favourite race perspective... so we have even more different description and style / tone.
My first RAW draft:
The UIT:
We came along the Serco and Itani, from Earth-1. We suffered with them when the first wormhole closed, and watched sadly as Serco and Itani hostility raised, while we remained neutral, peacefull farmers and scientists. To our domes fled all the people against the war, no matter what race, and also those seeking good food and technical products. As the war escalated, the Serco almost decimated the Itani, who fled from our then single planet into uncharted space, we remained there, neutral. But when Serco decided to rename 'Terra II' as 'Serco Prime' and began hunting us down, we knew we also had to go to keep our independence and our integrity.
To the space we went, thanks to TPG technology, who uses the best we had inherited from Earth-1, Serco and Itani advancements, and progressed well beyond they ever gone. We built large stations, colonized many systems and created our own nation, to defend ourselves and our lifestyle, while remaining neutral and kept trading with Serco while the Itani were absent, and later with both sides. Our space faring companies have adopted and evolved the best Itani and Serco technology to a point that both started purchasing from us.
Our nation today is a loose knit of planets, corporations, farmers and traders, proud of our independence and neutrality, keeping good relations with both sides of war, who became our best customers, while fostering development and progress of human race.
UIT>Serco:
The Serco are a proud people, fascinated with war and glory and enhacement of the person by integration of technologic components into human body. Serco implants gives them their formidable strength and resistance. Their usage of Guises was the trigger that started the ever-lasting war with Itani, but also was what kept us alive in the rough times when Earth-1 wormhole collapsed.
The Serco reaction to Itani crescent animosity was enhancing their combative lifestyle and rigid organizarion, so naturally the military became the dominant force over society, where anyone not dedicated to military, as we were, became inferior, and we suffered too.
After forcing the Itani out of "their" planet, their animosity turned against us, leading to the creation of our space-faring nation. But since we left then Earth-II, now Serco Prime, and their nemesis, Itani, reappeared, they have became cordial customers, for food, ships and weapons.
They consider us and Itani as inferior people. When dealing with Serco, address them respectfully and they will behave better, so you can use this pride to increase our profits.
UIT>Itani:
Once peacefull farmers and scientists as ourselves, the Itani people grew the hostility against Serco and their usage of biotechnology, probably because it was against their religion, escalating until it breaked up into full, declared war. Our planet, so hostile but tamed by combined efforts of all inhabitants, was shaken. Crop fields became battlefields, farming beasts and machines where adapted to war. The result of this conflit was sour to Itani, who lost the last major battle in our then shared planet, leading the few survivors to flee into space to escape extermination, avoiding any contact with other humans for centuries. The Itani Ark design had great influence on the creation of TPG, and UIT as a nation.
This isolation led to important developments in their society and religion, greatly developing their mental powers and fine technology without physical interface with human body for controlling their ships. After contact was restablished, they became important customers and partners, while many Itani who remained living with us strenghtened our relation with them.
They consider us as equals, both victims of Serco aggresivity. When dealing with them address them politely but as equals, and allways compare out offer to Serco's equivalent to insure better profit.

Just use the language from the PCC. Should be NBFD. No issues with the prize being free play time, either.

There wasn't any Serco "aggressions", read the original story and timeline carefully. Itani started the war and the genocide of Serco, trying to kill all of us.

Do you think so, Pirren?
They write your version history from Serco Perspective. That is *MY* interpretation, from UIT perspective, about the Itani. And unless you find being tortured FUN, the 'Neutrals' also suffered, enough to force them leave their then home planet...
From official backstory ,at http://www.vendetta-online.com/h/storyline_section8.html
AD3609, TERRA II
Serco-Neutral relations have gone only downhill. Since the original harassment issues sprang up, the youth have grown to adulthood and brought about full-fledged persecution. Indeed, now new generations carry on the traditions of their parents and grandparents, torturing Neutral people for their amusement. Whole villages are destroyed by laughing Serco and their fearsome "pet" creatures....

Argue elsewhere. And Alloh, keep in mind that the back story is written from the perspective of the Itani.
But isn't exactly that we are fixing? Like, re-write history (not change!) from the perspective of each "race"?
Also, I prefer to see different tones, or language, or style, for each history. Exactly like if each description was written by a different person, from a different 'nation', in a different time?

the back story is written from the perspective of the Itani.
And even it admits the Itani were the first to start the persecution and genocide of the Serco, which worked great until the Serco turned out to be a lot better at the whole 'kill your enemy and drive them before you' thing than the prancing blue pansies were.

From alloh's UIT perspective it's clear UIT schools are in desperate need for funding, especially their grammar classes. Donate now to help a UIT child get his/her GED >.>
Alloh, yes we are doing a description of each race from all perspectives... but, even the Itani admit that the war and resulting hostilities was their own doing. The descriptions can be biased, but they should be honest. And that includes not omitting things. If anything, I would think that from a UIT perspective there would be an anger towards towards early Itani (for starting the war) and Serco (for not ending it when they ran out of Itani to kill.

Hear, hear!
There is definitely a certain amount of distrust and resentment towards both the Monastic Order of Eo and the Serco Dominion, not to mention the Akanese. Still, when your nation is basically run by corporations, business interests-and quarterly profits-come first, and fleecing one's customers could be interpreted as a sort of revenge.
As a side note, when I'm roleplaying my character, Captain Nikan "Nice" Hardrive, I make a point of not calling Serco Prime by that name, instead referring to it as Terra Secondus (my own long-winded pronunciation of it's original name: Terra II) as a slight against the Serco narcissisticly renaming the world after themselves after driving the neutral territories off-world.

create a new breed such as the Roma who could go through the system (ITU Itani Serco).
If they do not attack player or bot , the defense bot nations do not intervene

1. What does this have to do with the OP?
2. Go play Hello Kitty Adventure Island if your after this kind of no consequence care bear rubbish.
3. Stay on topic.
4. Anyone going off topic as drastically as Tertior has, is disqualified
5. Tertior, you are disqualified.
