Wow, we're getting close to four weeks without an update. That's never happened before, in my experience at least.

(Taps the LCD screen).

Hello? Anyone home?

Did an evil Android take over the Guild Software offices? HAL? T-1000? Skynet? Locutius? Seven of NIne? Somebody here?

(tap, tap, tap).

If I start seeing glowing red eyeballs in VO, I'm out of here.

It could be any number of things. Maybe they're really busy getting ready for E3 or something.

I'm guessing that would be it, and I'm hoping it is too.

I'm bored.

And it wouldn't really take much to unbore me, some deneb badges and a stats page would probably keep me going for another half a year

Yeah, the lack of interesting updates lately, besides the incredibly-difficult-to-manufacture-cappies-which-can-really-only-be-created-by-guilds, are starting to get tiresome. I may unsub sometime.

Hell... there must be a couple dozen missions by the PCC that could be dropped in at least.

it's hard when no one tests them and no one tests them cause testing is mega boring

Maybe they let a1k0n drive the garbage truck again.

It's hard to test them when you don't have access to the test server. I didn't have access to the test server until 6 months after starting with the game.

Well, there have been some server side updates.

Though to be honest I support CS on this , lets have a big war in deneb . With all the juicy bits mentioned in many posts passim ....

Capships aren't supposed to be personal property, they are supposed to belong to a guild, and thus should require a guild's efforts to build, or otherwise acquire.

At least they should be built by a group of some kind. It doesn't make sense that an individual should be able to build one, and it would be a real let down if it were easy to acquire. There's nothing MMORPG about being able to throw one together easily.

Hi, I've mentioned in a couple of brief thread responses that we're crazy busy, but I haven't been able to provide details. It's been on my TODO list to write some sort of big newspost/email newsletter, and I've been trying to get some other pieces ready for a newsletter in general.

The projects we've been working on are all cool stuff, and very time-sensitive, and very much under non-disclosure agreements. Some may be E3-related, but most of them wrap up in early June for one reason or another. These projects weren't all supposed to happen simultaneously; there have been some challenges with aspects being delayed by organizations other than ourselves. That's.. business.

So, there have been a lot of all-nighters and not a lot of time for obvious game development, but it should be almost over.

Anyway, I'll probably ship a newsletter on Friday.

Nothing against other projects and alike, thats business as you say, but as far as I recall we pay a monthly sub not only to pay for dusty servers but also for ongoing support and enhancements and on that end it was kind of pretty dry this year.

First nothing happened due to Android (and its not even android, its Tegra2, the weakest of all current gen chipsets which my mobile kills flat out with its hands on the back - Galaxy S II) and now there is other VO independent stuff.
I really start to regret that I payed for 6 months as I only saw 1.5-2 months of active development for the sub I payed for with the single real enhancement of Caps since dec 2010 ... If I look over to EVE VO feels like flatout dead development wise, even F2P MMOs get better, ongoing development support guys really

"Nothing against other projects and alike"

I don't think you understand. They aren't other projects, it's all for Vendetta Online.

There are only 3 developers, so they have to allocate their time wisely. We got player-controlled capships this year, among other things. I'm sure the developers would love to stop all business-related development and focus solely on coding and other things that show up in the update notes, but unfortunately life doesn't always work that way.

EDIT: There have been 252+ updates in about 330 weeks (since the game's release). How's that for support? That's an update almost every week for 6.5 years.

Well, we're a very small company, making the most of our opportunities and resources. Some projects go more according to plan than others. We dislike long public dry spells as well. But, we're making choices in the best long-term interest of the overall company (which includes the game). This has led to things like.. being featured in very large TV commercials, etc.

I agree with slime. In the long-view this year has been huge. People have been clamoring for Guild to advertise for years, and suddenly Vendetta is on a nationwide television commercial in heavy rotation for weeks - far beyond what I would have imagined thanks to Guild positioning itself well with Andriod. We've asked for crafting, and now it has become reality. We've asked for player-operated capships, and now people are rushing to build them.

I've been subscribing since it was possible to subscribe, and I think I donated prior to that. I don't regret it at all.

Speaking of being featured in very large TV commercials, that had to be good exposure. How'd that affect VO's subscription rate for non-Android users, if you don't mind my asking?
