Portable installation? is it possible?
So I commute to college and don't bring my laptop because it's heavy. I'd like to be able to install VO on a thumb drive and then use that installation to play it on any of the schools computers.
I tried just now and since it's a school computer, I don't have administrator rights and so the installer couldn't create the necessary registry keys.
Is there some way I can install VO on my thumb drive and then play it from any computer(with the same Windows 7 OS) using that thumb drive?

Pretty good trolling attempt. But seriously, because it's heavy? Unless it's one of these*, maybe you should STFU and be happy you're finally getting some exercise:

*Note that this model of computer and VO's first promises of user playable capships were released at about the same time.

Yes.
But you need the skills to create a bootable thumbdrive, and hijack the computer.
You could even boot the computer into Unix if you like ;-) I remember having bootable Slackware on 2 floppies. Much easier now with a thumbdrive. You'll need to hack the network tho.

greyerg, I did some digging on this one and there's a registry key in HKLM\Software\Guild\Vendetta\Install that has to point to the directory where the game is installed or it won't run.
Since you don't have admin rights, you probably can't write to HKLM, so that's a -No- unless the developers want to chime in with a work-around for that.
As far as Linux or Mac OS X versions: Probably yes, since VO already runs from your home directory on Linux, and Mac OS X doesn't seem to care where you put the VO appfolder.
Nice Mac Portable, Lecter. I used one of those for word processing a long time ago. It was way more useful than all of your forum posts combined.

Yeah, and we could use a port for those game testing platforms at walmart while you are at it.

EDIT: But seriously...this picture is hilarious...

I like how the little girl in the background is just staring at him. XD
That's exactly how I imagine Alloh plays the game (and looks), though I don't imagine his home country to have too many shopping institutions as clean and classy as that Walmart.
