I'm certain a server upgrade is not needed.
Mar 27, 2011 AlistairG link
Perhaps, I was thinking with the influx of new players and the imminent release of cap ships... but then again, I have no idea what server they're on now and I haven't had the time/money to make it in-game since December...
Mar 28, 2011 Impavid link
They won't add a dev because then they'd have to spend 6 months training them in, which would delay development of the game, which they can do just fine on their own.

Why are you still here, Impy? Why not just make a blank post and we'll all imagine something negative to say. We'd probably be more interesting and creative.

Now somebody say: Why don't YOU make a blank post and then we'll all imagine something fanboi-ish, and then I will make a blank post. Hilarious, right?

@inc

[[[We're a unique, graphically-intensive, online-game experience on a platform that is starved for content and has every consumer-electronics company in the world (sans-Apple) building for it. That makes for some pretty cool opportunities, the TV-ad just being the first.]]]

Great to hear that.

You know, if you lowered the billing price to like 6-7$ / month, together with another XOOM ad saying loud "OMG OMG OMG, WE'RE NOW ONLY $6/MTH NOW, GO BUY BUY BUY LIMITED TIME OFFER LOLZ WE'RE MAAAAAD SELLING OUT !!!", then you could increase your income.

Yes I am serious, lowering the price may actually increase your income. Hint: check out Laffer curve and supply/demand:

In many third-world countries $10 is a lot of money. That could get them to play the game. There are potential markets there too.
Mar 29, 2011 Dr. Lecter link
It's already $6 and change per month in 24 month blocks.
Mar 29, 2011 PaladinOfLancelot link
@Lecter

Yeah it is, i meant 6-7$ as the default per single month pack, and less (<$6) for 3mo/6mo/1yr.

Of course - it may not work, but if you don't try, you will never know if it is working or not.

Suggestion noted. However, there are a number of ways to engage 2nd and 3rd-world markets more effectively than dropping a subscription price. Anyway, our sub pricing model is fixed for now, due to various upcoming partnerships.

If you'll take payment in goats I'll resubscribe.

PayByCash may already offer a livestock-barter payment solution.

And Incarnate may not want an old goat like you

Yodaofborg: "Inc. Do not forget to mention the new PC subscribers because of the adverts side effects :)"

(raises hand) Yup, I'm new to VO because I seen the Xoom ad yet I'm a PC user and do not own a Xoom (yet... still too expensive).

"Why not just make a blank post and we'll all imagine something negative to say. We'd probably be more interesting and creative."

Because we are to creative and interesting so you'd end up locking the blank post and then deleting it.
