I've got it! There should be a secret warp to the old sector setup in sector 7 (either at the secret spot or directly below (opposite way of the star) 7) Damn that would be cool, and it would still have the sector gates ring things and the big signs that used to be there. Damn that would kick ass, especially if you had to go there with no weapons and pick up the power-ups just like the good old days.

And one homer would kill a bot! :P And you could carry only one rocket tube. And all mediums and heavies could carry mines. :-D

I'd rather have an easier way to get to the 16 hole through 15. 5 is easy enough.

It's pretty easy to get to 16 from 15. Go to the station, and point yourself at the following star (the O):

Every time I check the message boards, this thread pulls me in and I laugh at ctishman's joke.

Sadly, we can't go back to 2.x, but we could have a sector that had powerups and it's own scoreboard that reset every 10 minutes.

A deathmatch sector, just like before, would fit nicely into our modern universe.

Merely have it be a holographic sector that is interconnected to all the station computers. You could hold duels in the "game," and people could easily bet on the outcomes. Ships would be unlimited, although a fee to enter could be collected.

Update, Mon 09/08

New NPCDEF AI will debut, hopefully, in a server-side-only update on Tuesday evening.

Dynamic economy development will begin on Weds. The development schedule for this project has not yet been defined.

Other work on the station, and integrating the station into the game, is progressing well.

P.S.: Devs, talk to Matt Burch (mburch@ambrosiasw.com) about his work on a dynamic economy in Escape Velocity. Though the code won't port, conceptually his work could be helpful.
