capital ship battles
If there is a doc somewhere for these questions, let me know.
First, I'm missing the point. I know there is a group of ships that blow up the other group (or groups?) but some of them target red, some green, without regard to nationality (eg: some Serco ships are green, some are red) So as a UIT, unguilded vet-newb whose side am I on or how do I pick one?
Turrets - I figured out how to dock in one of the large ships and select a turret and start shooting at stuff, and found myself on a side with little to no activity. Is there a way to change turrets? How do I leave the capital ship and get back into my docked ship?
I believe the goal is to eliminate the shields of the "enemy" ships first (like a hive queen?) then blast them.
Could someone review the actual strategy (or strategies) for winning?

No one is this stupid. I declare poor trolling skills.
The friend/foe identification can be a bit confusing right now. This is a known issue we're looking to improve.
You use the "activate" key (usually 'enter') to leave a turret. That will bring you back to the station interface, where you can change turrets or launch your ship and leave. There needs to be a persistent reminder of this when you take over a turret (the key to leave).. I think that's also on our fix-it list.
People usually use stacked batches of missiles to drop the shields, which then makes the capships more vulnerable.

thanks, I probably tried every key except "enter".
Is there any kind of faction hit for these, any rewards or drops?

You get a ridiculous amount of points for nailing a cappy mate, not so sure about drops
Your command of irony is impressive.

Sorry, I assumed no one was that stupid, thereby concluding you were a poor attempt at a troll. I did not realize you were in fact as stupid as your post made you seem.
Ryan I see your practice of mysticism has paid off....

This thread is hilarious.
jwb, every kill in a border skirmish gives you a small faction hit, though I'm not sure if a capship will give you a larger one or not. Also, one way to fix the friend/foe identification is to get a plugin called ToasterCrush plugin suite (TCS) at the vendetta wiki plugins page ( http://vo-wiki.com/wiki/Plug-ins#ToasterCrush_Plugin_Suite ). This suite includes a plugin that allows you to set who appears as what color on your radar, called "MakeFriends". Finally, you can pick to support either Itani or Serco as a UIT by going to a military or capital station for the nation you want to support, and joining the military. Border Skirmishes, Border Patrol, and other missions will appear.

lmfao @ Pa & Ryan
Actually Pa, with the decline in quality of the Good Dr's postings, I think Ryan may be emerging as our new champion. Perhaps the old fellow could take a leaf or two out of Ryan's book and re-invent himself :P

thanks for the info!
Hey now... I still find the Docs caustic sense of rapier word play refreshing, entertaining and of an exceptionally high quality. Besides, if the Doc ever hands over the reins... Peytros is clearly the heir to the throne.
I'm just a misanthrope with a low tolerance for anything I find lacking.

Peytros? He's makes a decent troll, the sneaky bugger. But really, he's not even playing the same game as you and Doc L.
Didn't even read this thread until just now, and that's probably for the best. Tighten up your "there by," RR - otherwise a solid response.
Thanks Doc... I hadn't caught that.
