How does this look on the new Android tabs? I am curious how well the forum looks on the smaller screens (vs a laptop/desktop) and in direct sunlight (although being based in Milwaukee, you guys may need to wait until spring to test that part!)

It probably sparkles in direct sunlight. Because it is just that flaming.

A very nice design.

However there is one tiny problem with it - the fonts are little too small, perhaps they should be 1px bigger. But that is not a real problem, because i can just use CTRL & + in my browser, or use custom CSS.

My eyes hurt!!!! EEEugh!!!!

Condensed fonts in titles are an abomination, text is too small and on a gloomy and butt ugly diarheea green background it's almost unreadable.

You failed miserably, go back to the drawing board and at least try to find a decent color scheme.
You can find millions of good ones here: http://www.colourlovers.com/

You failed miserably

Most people seem to disagree...

hmm this color scheme looks soooooooooooo depressing...(did ye just steal the background color from a nazi uniform?)
it misses sumething
well let me see....
Ah yes it misses sume RED! Definitely!

nice roids tho, bleed well : ]

Yeah some red here and there wouldn't hurt.

But the design is not bad. I like it.

Haha, ye feel the design is kinda itanish?

Apart from the anorexic font, I think it's a huge improvement.
Dec 12, 2010 Pizzasgood link
That's a good point, I think it probably would look nicer with small amounts of red here and there to balance all the cool colors, especially in the forum area where the gray-green gets just a little bit oppressive. But that's just me being critical; it already looks pretty nice. And I'm not really sure where the red could fit in with this design anyway.

We can argue about color all day... but how about a drop-down menu for different CSS themes based on different nations? could have a cool blue/teal theme like this for Itani, a crimson/red theme for Serco, and a gold/yellow/brown one for UIT.

A grey/black one for the pirates. And pls.... PLS fix the fonts:)

I think this website is a HUGE improvement!

To all the people bitching about it's design:

Consider the fact that it's taken the devs this long to make changes to the website. When you consider this, you will come to realize that they have other, more crucial jobs higher up on their priority list.

We now have a website that puts forth a good image to people who are not already playing the game, which is great! Especially with the new attention this game will get from android users.

If the font is hard to read, then perhaps use the zoom function, which is a very common feature in browsers.

I really don't unerstand you guises whining the site was blue/dark teal before the redisign the color sheme is fine and the tables are just fine as long as your not reading this on 640x480, this is a major improvment over the old vo site.
Dec 12, 2010 Pizzasgood link
Relax. Constructive criticism is not complaining. I think only like two people didn't like it. The rest of us do like it, we're just providing feedback so that, if the devs choose to, they can make it even better.
Dec 12, 2010 blood.thirsty link
just bash spidey's ninny head against the website background and it will be perfect, and if ye want to do us a favor write Vendetta in fresh newb's blood across da screen : ]

EDIT: maybe save this idea for the RP forum : )

I changed the message-order when replying or editing, but it still has the old issue of always showing the first page. A simple fix would be to have it show the whole thread, or the last page, but I could also make it show the actual page you're replying to with a bit more time. I can't say for sure what I'll end up doing, but feel free to voice your feelings on the options and relative importance.

I also bumped the minimum height of the font in the message-bodies by 2px, but I didn't see a difference on reload. Feedback welcome, especially from anyone who goes to the trouble of tweaking the CSS and reporting their changes. If you do give feedback on aesthetic issues, please specify your browser, including full version info, your resolution, and if you're at a non-standard zoom-level (ctrl-0 will take you to default).

I would prefer the latest/last messages be displayed when replying since those are the one I am usually responding to.

On firefox 3.6.12 (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; ) at 1680 x 1050 the font is small but readable. I would mark this as the absolute smallest size you should use. A bump of 2 more would not hurt in my opinion.

message body font looks fine to me. The usernames and times though seem small, especially given the size of the element around them. Usernames should be substantially larger, or bolded IMO. Time and username columns should also be swapped.

For time I liked the older, absolute time format much more than the newer relative format. If you want to do both, perhaps have it display the absolute time and date, but switch to relative on mouseover.

Browser is Firefox 2.0.0.20 (Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1.20) Gecko/20081217) at a monitor resolution of 1024 x 768.

Some stuff isn't quite lining up properly, particularly the misc information adjacent to the thread titles on the forum listing, the "Search Forums" link is misaligned, and the "Merchandise" link on the left-hand side is spilling out of the frame. Might be other things I haven't noticed

I've had this sort of problem with other websites, but I also know that newer browsers seem to load those pages properly when I have those problems. I think its a problem with my Java; I believe it doesn't like the updated coding for nested frames. I'd upgrade my browser, but my OS is too old, and there are hurdles to upgrading that. At this point, I'd be better off just getting a new computer entirely (this one has trouble running VO, hard as that is to believe).

Fortunately, the bugs I'm encountering with the new format are minor issues at worst, and don't impact my ability to actually use the website in any appreciable way. Its definitely a step up from what we had before.
