Random question for seasoned miners
Are there any renowned "largest" roids in VO? I remember a bunch of big iceyo around, but that seems more cookie-cutter like, wasnt sure if there was anything outstandingly massive the devs cooked up.
Is there a way to calculate the actual mass of a roid?

The largest single asteroids in the game are the objects used in the training sectors, to which the training stations are attached.
The Verasi I-5 station may be slightly larger, but the individual chunks are smaller, about the same as the biggest ice chunks. The training-sector objects (which may also appear elsewhere, I forget) are sufficiently large that they brought about our adding detail textures (only available on newer hardware). Without that I had the options of too-much-texture-repeat or too-blurry-when-close.

Some of the old botcracks in Edras are made of quite large chunks, definitely some of the larger roids before the newb stations. Not sure if you would want to mine there though, cos the lil green dots on my radar ain't really very friendly :D

How I miss finding whole families cuddled up together killing masses of bots with rocket rags. How yummy when they all exploded together. All I was missing back then, was UT's MONSTER KILL!!!!

Yeah, the cracked asteroid is pretty big. But I think smaller than either I5 or the training roids.
In terms of sheer mass in a given sector, that definitely goes to the central sectors of Deneb.
There's also the big "white" ice ball. Which is.. somewhere in grayspace, I think. I forget where.

Yeah, but you cannot really grasp I-5's size, cos of the pea soup it's now surrounded by.
Have a look at dantia L 6, no rare ore but impressive.

Seconded. Is there a way to make bot pathfinding quietly revert to its old ways in just a few spots in Edras and Rhamus? It was so much fun!

Wasn't one of the race tracks sunk into a big rock, too?
And I don't recall seeing any iceyo clusters of relatively unusual size... anyone else know which one Inc is talking about?

Oh! When did they change the system fog to be not as funky?

I remember some unusually large ice-yo's in Denebs > Serco WH, but they were deleted. Sad really as they were a place for contention for Itani/Serco miner conflict (and were quite rich in Denic).
