I seem to have hit a wall and im struggling to level, have i missed something.

Ive tried doing the gauntlet (multiple times) and died
Ive tried hive skirmish and insta died

So that leave advanced combat practice of which i can only take on the collectors without getting owned, now the other issue is the collectors seem quite sparse too.

Have I missed something?

Yes, you should consider trying the following two things: hitting that at which you aim, and, dodging.

Doing either one for a change will help, but doing both at the same time would be better.

You will need to hone your combat skills on the bots if you want to get much farther. Each type of bot has a predictable set of behaviors. You can learn these and exploit them. Some bots can be shot at and led away from the others, some are confused by strafing, etc..

I quit, this game is a waste of bandwidth, roll on dark prophecy getting released.

To the devs, must try harder.

The troll in the forums is bad, the reaction to me request for his being dealt with was seriously unpredictable.

If you want your game to grow you need to start to take things seriously

What are you, Trig Palin logging into VO from Wasilla? Even Alloh is sharp enough to figure out that a personal attack thread in the Suggestions forum (much less one directed at someone unlikely to pull their punches) would bring about little beyond an unsightly shitstorm.

Now, if you've got a suggestion for increased forum moderation in general, I'll still ridicule your ill-considered plan and poor language skills, but nobody will lock your precious little "request."

Calling this game a waste of bandwidth is unlikely to get you far. You came, you got trolled, you took the bait. If you judge the entire game because the devs didn't bow to your "request" to ban one player from the forums, I doubt you'll fare much better with (any) other online communities.

What Phaserlight said. Echoing the thread that tarenty kindly referenced: moderation is tricky. However, I don't think there is any unpredictable grey area in locking a thread that began with an acrimonious tone and was obviously only going to get worse from there.

Anyway, OP, sorry you feel you must leave. You did get helpful support from the community. Assuming you actually do have an audience somewhere, it seems irresponsible to condemn an entire community because of an obvious attempt to troll you.

Moderation is not tricky. Establish fucking rules. Enforce fucking rules. Very simple really. All that is required is will.

However, it is a moot point as it has been clearly expressed that there is no intent or 'will' to engage in this at present. And fairly so. It is unfair to put the burden on one moderator and the devs have far more important work to do for the game in the way of development.

We are aware that improvements could be made to how we handle unhelpful posters on the forums. A lengthy suggestions thread was made about this awhile back, and it was definitely noted, and I'm hoping to make some improvements this year. But, right now, the devs barely have enough time to read any parts of the forum at all; there aren't very many of us and we're very busy trying to improve things and keep up with the demands of other companies on rather time-sensitive projects.

I'm sorry to hear that Odinegras had an unpleasant experience.

I always wonder if the OP of these kinda threads ever read the follow ups. Or are we just talking to our selves telling our selves that the OP wont last long and that they suck and what not. BUT jokes on us, cause I think they never return. OR do they read all the posts and sit in their dark room steaming over what has been said to the point where they are too angry to respond and start punching holes in the wall instead? The mystery may never be solved.

Mostly I respond for the sake of the next one who comes along and maybe reads the threads before posting.

Lol, I was going to post another *welcome* - but I guess it's too late - just from a newbs prospective I would like to point out the post I made on happypenguin when I first started VO back in 2003, but happypenguin.org is not resolving for me right now so I'll try quote from faded memory(feel free to dig it up).

VO is shit, if you want a game where (insert flames about Icarus, Pheonix, and alienb here) happens all the time, this is your game.

Now sure, the VO universe was a lot simpler and lot more cruel back in them days, but I came back, and read the replies to my rant here (which is CHUD food now) and felt silly. Tried again, got banned by a1k0n, and then tried again, heh. You do have to remember this fact.
