Vendetta Online 1.8.144
- New manufacturing mission and associated item: Merged Cybernetics Array, located in the Bractus conquerable station. This uses one Neural Nodule from each of the major Hives (Milanar, Prosus, Siepos) to construct an element of a station or capship Master Computer.
- Improvements to orientation interpolation of remote ships. This should be smoother visibly under certain conditions, and also potentially remove some of the stuttering when one is turreted onto another player ship. Further improvements to interpolation will be forthcoming.

Woo! Manufacturing.
Also, more involved post on news.
Big business opportunities = more players?
Keeping a pair of fingers crossed.

we're also adding some really cool new features, which will probably be quite unexpected
I'm still unlikely to waste precious free time in VO, but this coupled with being able to construct an element of a station or capship Master Computer makes it sound like we're getting closer to something that won't bore the fuck out of vets.

The interpolation stuff sounds intriguing. Will it impact those unusual situations where for whatever reason you (and perhaps only you) see your ship getting hit but do not take damage?
I think it's related to turrets maal, so no.
It impacts the smoothness with which certain (remote) ships rotate under particular circumstances. The math was a bit inaccurate, and Ray has improved it for those kinds of rotations and orientations.
It doesn't have much material impact on the game, beyond the fact that when you're turreted on someone else's ship, any inaccuracy in interpolation gets drastically magnified from your own perspective (as you see yourself jerking around or whatever, and your view is not smooth or continuous.. which can make it tough to "be" an effective turret).

Do i hear the sounds of 1.9 coming ?
At last.

Good to hear Inc.

It's me, patch 2.0...oh...wait...it's not 2020, isn't it?
;)

Hey, every little change gets us closer.
We've already done a lot more "2.0" slated stuff (like station conquest) than I expected to have pre-1.9. So, things are happening.

is 2.0 going to be a whole new release or just an update of epic proportions from devs' point of view?
@incarnate that's why I made the ;) under my post...was just for teh lulz.
@TehRunner it seems like it's a specified amount of changes...maybe some bigger changes in the API of the engine...
