VO 1.8.139 includes:
- Increased detail and efficiency of some station textures.
- Many other small changes and updates to support the Android version.
I had to dedicate some time this week to improving a few station textures, for reasons relevant to the Android build. On the upside, players should now see significantly greater detail in the surfaces of some stations.
Next week I intend to get back to gameplay changes, bot improvements and new Manufacturing tied to the conquerable station.

Stations definitely seem a lot sharper, or it's just a placebo and I haven't been paying enough attention to stations before the update. :p
Only diffuse and alpha replaced so far. When I eventually redo the normal and specular maps it should pop a lot more.
Not a huge priority, but they were not DXTC compressed before, and we needed some efficiency improvements on android. Better to kill two birds with one stone and also make things look nicer for everyone else :).

Poor birdies :(
Are we having bird stew in the cafeteria this week? i LOVE bird stew!
Cool one.
Stations do look +much+ better now.
Scale it up next? Those "living quarters building" could be quickly improved with a few more "dark rooms" ...
It's very very good to have that modular stations setup, similarities improve immersion. It would be interesting to have specific modules for factories, ore processing, green house...
and relate those to locally produced items.

Screenshots? ;)
I'm still waiting for sprawling UIT space cities, but detail boosts are always nice. Thumbs up
The new station textures kinda feel like when you switch from standard-def to 720p. :p
The update seems pretty small, but I guess it's for the greater good.
The detail is very good to look at... it kind of makes the stations look like they're made of stone, though, rather than metal.
I think that is because the texture they are using is actually a picture of grey stone or cement or something, and not painted metal. Although who is to say brutalist architecture doesn't make a comeback in the future.
Space it rough on stuff? And people suck at painting in space? there lets make that cannon, problem solved!
Oh yeah, they look sharper now, but as it's already been mentioned the material seems to be rough stone...
I think the decrease in bandwidth is the main update here. The stations look quite a bit how they used to, imho.
They always looked made of stone, it's just more obvious now. Is concrete a nono in space? I don't think so.
Exactly right. The texture is very cool, just a bit out of place; and it always looked that way, but now it looks even more cool yet out of place. Aztecs in Space!
Aye, concrete would set in space. Slowly , but it would,
I forget what the stations are made of ...xithcrete? It used to say somewhere.
actually concrete might not set up at all in space, rather it'd outgas and youde have some brittle cracked up piece of crap left over. the whole freezing thing might hurt it too, concrete allowed to freeze while setting often is very weak.
