New player wanting answers and advice
I'm a new player. Brand new here. I have a trial account that I haven't started yet.
My questions, that I'm hoping some one can answer are:
1. What should I do, during my trial time, to get as much experience of the game as I can, so I know if I want to continue playing? (If all I see if mining, that's no fun. But I really don't know what else there is besides mining, or shooting miners.)
2. Is there anything like "Plex", to trade game play time / game coin / RL coin?
3. What is this I saw in the "Why I'm quitting" thread about the trade nerf? What is up with the economy?
Just as a side note: I'm normally a merchant type, and in games with good economies I enjoy running shops. Is anything like that possible in here?
(Yes, I read the manual, but it didn't really explain much more than "trading prices are fixed, but don't oversaturate or you'll make less". Doesn't quite make sense :-).

Hello and Welcome
1)Take the tutorials, and then take any missions available to you. There's mining, trading, combat, player vs. player, etc.. Failure to take the tutorials may result in missing important aspects of the game. Other pilots are much more inclined to answer questions posed by those who have taken the time to do the tutorials.
2) There is currently nothing like Plex here. Maybe one day.
3) The economy is in development and is constantly improving toward a complex dynamic model. Not everyone is a fan of change, even if it supports the overall vision of the game. Incarnate's reply in that thread was right-on.
4) There are currently no official "shops", though a number of enterprising players do maintain lucrative in-game businesses trading difficult-to-obtain items.
5) The prices are not fixed. They are dynamic on a simple scale at the moment, but will become more complex over time.

Welcome to VO! I just wrote almost everything Whistler wrote. It would be a bit redundant now. Heh.
When you get to level 2 check out a barracks station for something more engaging than basic/adv combat missions
I run a large scale business in the game as one of my characters, Nahin Lor. I sell pretty much anything, including rare and hard to obtain items, as Whistler said in #4. Right now I have little competition, maybe that will change soon. ; )
Welcome to Vendetta.
Welcome to Vendetta.
If you open up shop I will buy your rare items, but our definitions of "rare" are likely to differ slightly.
First off, I am disturbed that you have a problem with shooting miners, or that you find it boring. It is a well regarded past time, and if you don't care for it, then perhaps you would be better suited as a miner.
Second, I would be happy to sell you in game items and credits for US dollars. If, on the other hand, you are attempting to avoid spending any US dollars to play, then please get lost. We already have enough dead beats that try to figure out schemes to play for free. Get a real job.
Third, there are many and varied problems with the economy, most none of which will have much if any negative impact on a total noob like you. Don't worry about it.
There is a limited player driven black market, for the few items of player perceived value that are significantly under represented by the artificial market.
Frankly, for a person looking to expend their trial time, the complexities of the market should be of least concern. Learn to fly, learn to shoot, learn to navigate, learn to run, learn your place and where you belong or get your tail fins polished by a friendly neighborhood pirate.

Roda is one of our resident trolls. It's best to ignore the few we have.
Getting a job in this economy is kinda tough :-).
Yes, the idea of trading play time for subscription fees does appeal when you have not that much. It's a mixed bag -- you get a larger population, but not necessarily a better population.
Trolls? I can deal with them when identified. No problem. I might take them seriously if I don't realize that they are trolls.
Wonder if this company is hiring people to help build the economy model?

I think the economy model is pretty well thought out - it just needs to have the support structure built to accommodate it. That has been happening quietly with nearly every update.
