GDC (the Game
Developers Conference in San Francisco, back in March) had some
unexpected (but positive) results and opportunities, and we have been
focusing a great deal of attention on a significant new VO feature that
has not yet been announced. There will likely be a press release about
this feature towards the end of May, in the run-up to E3.

im guessing either we can finally dock on planets build cap ships or someone gave inc a shit load of money.

Um, no, none of those things, but hopefully it'll give us some good press.

Shank: no, although we're planning on that too. Nvidia is supposed to send us a special monitor, but I think they're out of them right now.

Anyway, I'll stop jumping on speculations, I just didn't want people to run away with the landing-on-planets or capship thing and then be disappointed :). The trouble with rampant speculation is reality being able to keep up, heh..

Hmmmm, groundbreaking but within reach. Maybe new PCC features... press loves that stuff.

Yeah, and I doubt it would be something close to a bug fix, because he said the press will like it. My guess is either AI, PCC, or a graphical feature.

So will VO actually be at E3 this year? Or is announcing the feature in the run-up to E3 just a coincidence?

New cappie? Fix economy? New faction? Players joining other factions? Pirate Nation? New ship class? More weapons? Bunch of new commodities? New systems? Expanded systems?

Yeah, none of those things would come out of connections at GDC...

usually if they can't tell us it means they struck some sort of deal with someone. Last time it was because VO was the test bed for integrated TeamSpeak for example.

Obviously they got deals with some game company, monthly rates halved, and new box-set Vendetta.

and flying into the sun...that would be pretty cool, when fighting in the corona of a sun...and when someone goes too deep he goes booom, depending on his ship you can go deeper and flee into the sun while your opponent has to wait for you to come out again.
