I'm watching Avatar at the moment and it occurred to me that those blue guys look like what I imagine Itanis would look like.

The Itani were the ones that didn't genetically enhance themselves. So I'm not sure how they would end up 8 feet tall and blue with tails in a few thousand years. But who knows, maybe that'll happen to us. All that uhh.. cellphone radiation or something.

I don't know about Incarnate's version of how 'things went down', but as for me, I strongly suspect foul play...just not from Oernon.

Besides the obvious accusations of an Akanese plot, there were likely not a few internal Serco factions who didn't want peace with 'those damn dirty blues', I wouldn't put it past some UIT corporations to cause such trouble to perpetuate the war for the sake of quarterly profits, and there are also the various criminal elements of the 'verse who would just as well have the major governments preoccupied with fighting each-other rather than tracking them down...

As far as I'm concerned, Oernon and Karun both were dead men the moment they set one pinky toe on that station.
