slow mouse movement
Hi all, sorry if this is a silly question but my mouse and keyboard reactions are very slow when I play. Is this my broadband connection or my computer itself?
Many thanks in advance for your help

The problem is that your signature and username do not match. Any time you move the mouse or keyboard, the game client has to do a matrix transform from Niall78 space to Raindog space, which then has to be verified by the server. This is a rather expensive operation, and on lower-end machines, this can easily cause apparent slowness.
Nail178, ignore ladron, he's trolling you. My bet is that you've run out of RAM, and toggled "preload all textures" on (I forget the exact wording). Try quitting your web browser and a few other apps before starting VO. However, I might be wrong, as what you describe is pretty... vague.

have no fear, Atice is here!

Nail178, ignore Aticephyr, he's trolling you. If you read through the forums, you will see that almost every time he posts he's either lying to newbies or trying to prevent others from telling them the truth. He also clearly doesn't know anything about computers, since he seems to think that running out of RAM can make your mouse move slowly, and doesn't even mention the obvious problem, which is matrix transforms.
In game press escape, click controls, go to the one marked mouse and tweak the sensitivity. If that doesn't work, do something else.
pey, lol :).
ladron, cut the crap.
ryan, you might be on to something (doesn't explain his keyboard response being slow though).

What can also cause slow cursor movement is picking a life of trading and mining make sure the first thing you do when you launch is shoot the first person you see without warning. Each kill will produce a 5% speed boost to your gaming experience.
It's ok to have a sense of humor, Atice. Really...
Maybe the OP if he is serious has a false expectation of how responsive ships should be?

Maalik, I do have a sense of humor! Pey was funny, Ladron went a bit far.
Niall, is the keyboard still less-than-responsive when you're chatting? or just when you're flying? if it's only when you're flying, then I think you expect too much maneuverability out of the ships...

If the keyboard is 'sluggish' when flying then /set doKeyRamp 0 (thats a zero) might help. But otherwise, yes, Some ships just don't move as fast as others..
If it IS a memory problem, disregard the above (though keyramp 0 is still really useful)
