Yeah, capships being in convoys is about a lot more than just.. trading, or whatever. More about populating the universe with Cool Looking Activity.

But, yes, we need to address the docking type issues.

Why not just disallow trade ships from taking escort missions period?

Ryan, what is a trade ship? We'll cut by storage capacity? Or loaded cargo? And those many multipurpose ships, as centaurs, Proms, Mauds?

And that also does not address infiltration problem.

Discussion continues on related topic, but seems that R/R/Eject is winning as short-term solution. Better than eject pilots when attacked...

And a convoy with a capship is MUCH more interesting than without. As long as the convoy follow the Cappie, except in ion storms, where they go just ahead, as is now.

If this change means that it is no longer possible to bankroll pvp with partial run escorts, and there is no new fun combat income, then I am done with Vendetta when my credits run out. I will not waste time grinding for credits.

I have always thought that players should have a wider variety of actions, but those actions should have consequences. Limiting action limits the game as a whole.

The only ship in the game with no offensive capability is the xc. All other ships are capable of some offensive action when attacked. It may be argued that all classes of moth only have defensive capabilities, if that is the way forward or more straightforward to implement then fine, read moth for xc.

So accompany the voy in any ship other than an xc, player gets paid.

Fly as a gunner with any ship other than an xc, player gets paid very little.

Dock with an xc, player gets charged say 20 k /jump transport costs.

Voy comes under fire due to undesirable passenger, passenger gets ejected.

I would suggest only applying these rules to escort missions. It allows newer players to have a go at manning a turret and interacting with a capship whilst making consequences for experienced players.

Having a sit in a turret during a long BS mission seems entirely reasonable, hence my emphasis on escort missions.

I like this idea, but I'd suggest 20k per jump, this gives a trader the option of using the convoy as an escort but at a potentially high price..

I like this too, though I wold suggest the player is ejected and killed.
