Now showing your buddies currently online, as well as a non-specific graph of total player density, colored by faction:

Perfect! Except...
The Y-Axis isn't labeled. So it could be 50 or 5000...

Ooo! Colorful.
I am afraid.
I wrote a newspost to help explain things, to anyone just joining the discussion.
I thought buddies were a character specific thing. How does that work with an account based display of active buddies?
We aggregate all the buddies of all the characters of the account currently logged into the site. The given buddy online list can only be seen by you, the given account holder.
Yay!
Wait, so does this mean there's always more serco on than any other faction?
This graph confuses me immensely. @.@

Also, as a reminder, if people have issues with any specific individuals being abusive or egregiously annoying on 100, feel free to open a Customer Support Ticket and tell us about it. People need to report issues for us to take action. Of course, /ignore also works, but that isn't always a tenable solution.
I feel so loved

Chaosis, the charts are stacked vertically, so you can see there is more UIT than Itani and Serco combined :/
Label yer damn axes.
Might wanna leave out unaligned...mom actually registering on the week graph is kinda depressing... :-)

Nah, Serco is just up top, where it belongs. Itani is likewise appropriately situated.

I am really enjoying this new feature. Thanks
The Vendetta Online website has encountered a problem. A bug report has been mailed to the developers, who apologize for your inconvenience. Please use the "back" button on your browser.
Encountered this the first time I clicked the link. Second time it worked. Nice though, I like.

Damned cool.
I can't say I like the removal of the APL, but the activity graphs are kinda cool.
It'd be nice if it showed your active guildmates on that page too.
As a general reminder about the future of player-awareness within the game, and the changing impact this may or may not have on pirates vs traders.. here's a snipped from a Ticket reponse I made to a player today:
We're adding other mechanics within the game to allow people to be aware of their surroundings, like the ability to talk to passing convoy ship captains and ask who they have seen. Plus features like sensor mines that report who passes them (but may be destroyed), radar / visual stealth, more extensive use of fogging, and limiting the "u" sector list to that which you have actually seen via radar. All of this should add up to an environment where it's far *easier* to avoid pirates, and there's at least an interesting stealthy component to doing so, instead of pirates hunting traders and traders avoiding pirates simply based on an absolute list on a website.
Calling it easier to avoid pirates might have been oversimplifying a bit, it'll likely be different, but we'll still have to balance out ways for people to find each other. It should definitely be a lot deeper and more interesting, and not any more advantageous for one group than another (things like regional piracy reports, updated on a map, based on last-known positions of convoys that never made it back, or reports from survivors who did.. all features within game context). I honestly believe that all of this adds up to a better game for everyone, across all play types. Of course, change brings with it controversy and upheaval and a certain percentage of people who say "I'm leaving!". Oh well.
