I will not be around much for the next week.
I'll be at GDC, hopefully networking, exploring opportunities for the company and finding new ways for us to improve and grow.
As as result, I won't be around a whole lot, on the boards or particularly in the Suggestions forum. I wanted to do a lot more work on the Station Conquest stuff this past week, but I ended up crazy busy with the whole newsletter, marketing, NAOS launch and other trip preparations. We still have some stuff in the pipe, like I nerfed the missile turrets (Latos I8 only) and we're adding some NPC defenders to the station. But I've been pretty disconnected from game development for the last week and a half. I really want to be more involved, and hopefully I will be when I get back.
So, just a heads-up about why I may not comment on Suggestions for a bit. Please keep posting and whatnot, as I tried to emphasize in the newsletter, we are still on track for doing a hell of a lot of changes over the coming months (short term). Fix-it stuff, refinement-stuff and expansion-stuff. So I appreciate feedback on all of the above. There's been good threads on simple things like Ship Extended Descriptions that have been missing for eons, as well as complex/intensive discussions of fighter combat in station conquest. Please keep all of that coming, and everything in between. We are listening, I just have been unable to clone myself lately.
That's all for now, thanks for the support everyone.

Have a great and productive time Inc. I'm quite sure the rest of us will find something to talk about in your absence :P
Good luck at GDC, incarnate!
aye good luck.
Have fun, inc. And if you can, try to convince some of the attendants the benefits to fully cross-platform development. ;)
Have some fun Incarnate and for lands sakes get some rest while yer there!
...not to mention a few unwinding and mind-frelling drinks!!!
Come back soon's ya can: relaxed, rested, and rehabilitated!

and dont get stuck in no damn earthquake
To take a VO phrase out of context, "go, gl and hf!" :D
And yes, avoid earthquakes when possible. And Grues.

Seems like everyone else is getting earthquakes for a change.
im just wondering with all the movement around the rest of the pacific plate, why not there too. that chilean earthquake actually knocked the earth off it's axis a bit 3 inches i think. Wonder if that will mess up the functionality of the mayan monuments, where the light goes a certain way on the winter solstice
If it's supposed to happen on a given day, then no. 3 inches is 1/5.26x10^8 of the Earth's circumference, which is only 164 microseconds of rotation. For a 12-hour event, 164 microseconds is not going to make a huge difference. Even if everything was calibrated to work at a very specific time, I doubt the Mayans could have achieved microsecond accuracy (or measurement for that matter) with the opportunity of testing it only once per year. Taking into account that the sun's angular width is 32.2 arc minutes, it takes over two minutes for it to completely pass an opening. So yeah, the Mayan statues should be safe. Unless they got knocked down by the earthquake itself...
