there is no hope for this game
I have witnessed countless times tonight the "good" guys of the game who constantly blame "griefers and pirates" of driving people out of the game exploiting the basic station conquest mechanics like no other.
Sure CHRN was the first group to concapult the station turrets out of radar range but then you people the "good guys" complained to the devs and they reset the sector and said not to do it again. Then i witnessed two vpr and a member of ONE kill their own turret so they would not lose the station. How can any of you ever claim the moral high ground when you are the ones exploiting broken game mechanics or even consider yoruselves the good guys.
as for the other memebers in that group that stood by and did nothing you are equaly as guilty you where all in group together and three people did not just randomly decide to shoot the last turret while one person waiting in the dock. shame on you all.

You make it sound like an isolated incident, peytros, but sadly it is not. This happens every single time the "United Nations of Care Bears" is in control of the station and it is in the turnover period. I know, I have participated in around ten or more turnover periods as a bomber (meaning I was watching the turrets) and every single time they do this.
Hell, lol, what we did was for shits and giggles. We were all going to sleep and we knew the station would be taken over as soon as we woke up, Maal even leaked a few keys to people we knew would spread them around like herpes before we left (again, for post-logoff shits and giggles lol). I'm not saying that it was a moral thing to do and I am not at all condoning concapulting turrets, I'm just saying that we didn't exactly do it for personal gain, neither did we do it over ten times in a row. Neither would we do it again. Judging by quotes from Growlor and actions from Mr. Chaos, Ishthasis Bessuni, Mistena Kosmel, Nahin Lor, and many many more, however, they are perfectly sound with their actions.
And pey, I wouldn't exactly say there's no hope for the game, the devs will hopefully patch up these problems in the next update. Unless, of course, you are referring to what the "United Nations of Care Bears" is willing to do.

Oh FFS, could we have a more dramatic subject line?
Yes, that sounds really annoying, but we're talking about a brand-new feature that was barely implemented. Exploits were pretty much a given. Can we just take it down a notch and report the issues an an objective manner so they can be addressed? Can people cease exploiting once the exploit has been tested? Yes, I know "exploit" is a hot-button term, but I think I make myself clear regardless of terms.

Whistler is right. People need to stop exploiting this. Aside from it being a very retarded thing to do it does actually avoid legitimate play-testing of the feature. We can either wait until the update that fixes this or actually take something into our owns hands and at least pretend this exploit doesn't exist.
That's the law that's the life
Pretending it doesn't exist never works.

First off you just called some of your Council members retarded.
The pirates grabbed the station first, and exploited it. I wasn't online at the time you say we killed our own turret, but you have got to be joking me if you said you wouldn't exploit it again once you got the chance. When you exploit the new update like that, it makes it harder for us to take you down. By saying this, your just telling us to not exploit the new update, and basically hand it over to you guys so you can mess around and make yourselves "unbeatable" again.
And what's with the thread title? This is an update that needs fixing, not a horrible, game-collapsing experience.
If the only way to beat you exploiting the new update, is to exploit it a bit ourselves... who's to blame us if we do?

it's a new feature you SHOULD be exploiting very crevice of it. That's the only way to get it fixed.
This is the week of no rules with this feature , enjoy it while it lasts because eventually the sanity check will be in place.

Actually, dumbass, the pirates re-took the station Saturday night. We could have, but did not, conced ourselves into invulnerability then.

jesus fucking christ, it's like a bunch of little girls with a new pony.
And the first sentence of the OP is almost unreadable

So you're leaving then, pey? That's a real shame.
exploits are bad but isnt this the way its suposed to work right now? i havent played with it yet but it seems like they are capturing the way its supposed to be done right now but just not rping it. people dont have to rp if they dont want. it looks like the devs will make it better it soon anyway but i think its supposed to work this way for now and nothing is broken or anything. there isnt some feature to prevent them from killing there own turets that isnt working or something. there is no bug they are using to do it. they just are killing there own stuff which is silly rp but helps them keep the station. nice overdrama tho. hahahaha
This thread smells good : )
PS, Pey did ye dock with the Acheron's Gate station?
I think i read someone said it should be fun to have the docking bay tagged "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" from Dante's Inferno.

I haven't neen online this weekend so I've missed all the "fun" but from what I'm hearing, it's the same ol' bullshit. You guys can bitch all you want about pirates and "griefers" killing traders and n00bs, but we do it all fair.
We don't need to cheat to win.
We don't need to cheat to win.
You know, we really worked hard to try and release any sort of conquest stuff on Friday. I was very clear that this was only an extremely basic testbed. Who gets or keeps the existing station has no bearing or impact on anything at all, there is no real motivation other than bragging rights, and the whole point was simply to bring to light gameplay issues like the ones we've since identified. If you guys want to bitch about your respective good-guy / bad-guy "roles" in the game, do it in Role Playing or some such, don't pollute my General forum with poorly-named, excessively melodramatic threads about nothing.
For the record, we will be trying to improve as much as we can tonight, and probably again on Friday. Things like the turret IFF issue may not be simple to debug.
