*** Vendetta 1.8.102
- Convoy capships only allow their own escorts to dock (a more
comprehensive rule-set is planned).
- Ejection of players from convoy capships for friendly fire.
- Tracking of escort success, failure, clean-kill, friendly-kill,
and abort, in preparation for discouraging use of escort
missions to trade without risk.
- Gauss MkII Turret, for use on Behemoth and Atlas turret ports,
available in Capitols.

Traders need a reason to actually use these new Gauss Turrets.

I suggest a high value trade run through Sedina B8 to test them.

Do these Turrets use energy from the ship they are equipped to(for firing)? Or is it possible to have the ship fleeing full throttle via boost, as the gunner can freely and effectively gun down any active pursuers?

I had the privilege of being in a fully manned moth with the new turret guns this afternoon. We were able to flee from a serious pirate over several sectors (until he logged). Stopping to fight a guy in a bus, though... yeah, we died to a bus. The pirate said chasing was a pain because you can't move straight forward while dodging turret fire.

I'm hoping the story gets out and more traders make the effort to get four people together for trade runs.

Likely someone will complain that the 'moths can get away now, but I think if you can get four people together, you should be able to get away from one person, if only as a reward for getting all those people together!

well its near impossible to get that many players together at once so I doubt rats will be chasing fully loaded player moths very often

But it was fun. If our pilot wouldn't have kept trying to fight head on we woulda made the whole trip!

I hope it also keeps track of enemies the convoy runs into as well, disallowing people from taking the missions after a long lucky streak of simply not running into hostiles would kinda suck.

Though I guess now I'm going to have to use disposable alts for launching convoys to kill.

Gatling turrets are not likely to appear as turret-equippable weapons at any time in the near future. For various technical reasons I've explained a couple of times on Suggestions.

oh i know the technical reasons behind it I wasn't complaining about development more how players wont use anything less then that.
