Okay, rewriting this.
I understand there's an extra charge on the PayByCash. Can I ask what the charge is for?
I was going to pay by Boku but AT&T only allows $9.99 per transfer. :<
Not sure how all this works. Explanation/better ideas appreciated. xD

Went and tried by Boku anyways. This is what showed up.
Sorry, 30.22 USD is above the amount allowed by your network.
The maximum allowed is 29.97 USD. Please go back and try a lower amount if one is available.
30.22 for one month... $17 in network fees? :S
EDIT: Yeah, apparently it's 29.97 and not 9.99 though. I also went and tried something else through Boku without actually buying it and it didn't provide any network fees or any extra costs beyond the price and taxes.
I'm so lost. :S

Just pay by CC and get over it.
No clue what's going on, but welcome to VO!
Ignore Lecter, he's our troll.
Maybe a dev can help out.

Aight man, thanks haha. I'll hold onto hope that a dev will respond.

I'm pretty sure the extra charge is due to the fact that this process is handled by a third party, who charges Guild for the service.
Can you use Hyperwallet? That's what I used to do, and it worked flawlessly every time.

I could look into Hyperwallet but I was going to use Boku due to the fact that I always have minutes leftover and I'm pretty sure the charges are deducted by minutes. It just seems more cost efficient than paying by credit card. Unfortunately, for some reason, I'm being charged around $17 more than originally stated.
If you want to get devs' attention the fastest way is probably to use the customer support form and select billing.
I'm trying a straight-to-Boku support ticket first. xD
However, devs should make direct PayPal payments available finally. I hate that PayByCash ransom and I simply do not want to pay by CC (recurring).
You can pay and then cancel immediately,
you'll still be able to play for however long you payed but it won't bill you again.

The reason for the additional PBC fee is covered in the Billing FAQ. I'm afraid I don't know anything about AT&T Boku, I've never heard of it before. PBC supports all sorts of wacky payment systems, and adds them all the time. It's completely separated from us, we don't have any knowledge or influence over any of that. You can contact the Boku people, as you are, or perhaps the PayByCash people. Either will be better informed than we are, sorry :).
As for the in-house PayPal, yes, we are planning that. It was making good progress and then stalled due to some issues I don't really want to go into right now. But it will be finished. PayPal via PBC has some administrative headaches for us, as well. Plus, doing in-house PayPal would allow the option of recurring-payment PayPal, for which some people have asked.

[ironic reply deleted] ... maq, sorry, I cannot call this a solution.
Yeah incarnate, I am waiting since your original announcement. I hope it will come true sometime soon not soon (tm). The extra fee for PayByCash makes nasty 30% price increase.

Yeah, I contacted Boku and am supposed to get a response within 48 hours. If nothing else, I may just pay through PayPal when it's ready. =]
EDIT: I just realized after getting back on my account for the first time in a while that I never finished playing out my free 8 hours. I might start a new char. I'm up for getting help on getting a feel for the game again. xD

Infinitis: It's a smaller percentage if you do 3 months, and so on.
It was entirely realistic at the time when I announced it. Then we had some highly unexpected badness out of left field. But we'll get back to it as soon as we can.

Sure incarnate but it is often pointless for me to sign up for longer periods, because I know I will be unable to play due to work and family matters. Sometimes, I subscribe for several months. Sometimes, only for one. I have periods without subscription between. The same applies for the second account I pay for my GF (I do not mean good fight).
Well, I got my response... =P
"Hi
The cost depends on the application, some applications apply the network fees to the customer and some do not - therefore the initial price point can double taking you over the agreed limit allowed by your network operator.
I am sorry but the only thing you can do is try an even smaller package if they have one available.
Regards
Support"
Guess I'll just wait on PayPal then xD

Good to hear about that "upcoming in-house PayPal" option.
I would very much like to occasionally sign up for a month or two, but neither PBC nor CC are options for me.

any idea when the in-house paypal service will be available?
I want to purchase per paypal but I don't want to go over a 3rd party company...makes the whole thing unsecure.

uhm...push...answer?
[sorry, if I've not waited long enough, but my trial time is about to end (30 minutes left) and I want to play this game a little bit longer ~.~
