So I'm new to Vendetta Online, literally just created a new account and downloading now. I've been playing Eve Online for a couple of years now but recently ended my subscription, and I'm not entirely sure of what to expect here!
How many subscribed players are there in total? What's the average number online at any one time? Are there players from all timezones, or are they mostly in the US?
Thanks!

First off, welcome to Vendetta Online. The biggest difference between EvE and VO is probably the twitch combat, which utilizes many elements which are usually more prevalent in FPS games.
There are around 200 subscribed players, I think, with an average of 30-40 players online. Lows are around 10-20, peaks at around 100, I think. Players do come from different timezones, which can at times be trying for those who are a long way away, due to the fast-paced nature of the game.
Here's hoping you'll decide to stay, in my opinion, it's definitely worth it. Check out the tutorial missions, they answer almost all immediate questions regarding the mechnics of the game. For stuff you feel isn't covered by the tutorials, it is best to ask in-game.

If you like FPS style combat, I think you'll find that VO far exceeds EVE in that case. (I like to think we have a far smaller percentage of trolls here aswell.. but their low numbers makes them all the more visible. As with all trolls, ignoring them is best.)
Hope you decide to stay, Calzakk.

Welcome calzakk!
Guild Software does not publish how many subscribers they have, however I do know that there are far more than 200 subscribed players. Not all are seen at once due to the different time zones, and some people don't play a lot but subscribe anyway to help keep development going.
Vendetta is nowhere near as intricate as Eve, but development is ongoing and game-altering features pop up on a regular basis (radar occlusion, for instance). As mentioned elsewhere, Vendetta's combat is the big difference.

Prepare to die.
That is all.
That is all.
There were 2039 characters seen in the last 30 days.
I count a more than that, CrazySpence, but my numbers/methods are dubious.
Calzakk: most people here enjoy Vendetta's PvP mechanics. Try it out if you like skill based twitch combat.

I signed up this weekend as well. My first impression is good, I like it. I played EvE for years even beta tested it. Both games are based on spaceships in the future... that’s about all they have in common that I can see. I gave up EvE simply because it's too much work to play. I felt like I had to put way more into it than I was getting out of it and was just not fun anymore. This seems like a fairly simple straight forward game to me so far. I'm sure there is a lot I don't know yet so I'm just going off my first impression.
I like twitch combat. One of my favorite games ever was Airwarrior where you would fly around in WWII style aircraft and have at it. I'm also a big fan of many of the first person shooters.
We will see how it works out... now if I can find my old joystick and get the hang of the non-flight mode combat...... ;)

PvP is the best part of Vendetta.
Welcome to the game, CapnScragg & calzakk.
Oh, and Spence, 2039 characters/6 probably equals 400 or so actual PLAYERS who have logged in over the past 30 days.
That's pretty good, not awesome, but still pretty good compared to earlier years.

You're rather cynical, Leebs. I play one character almost exclusively.
Same here. I'd say about 1 out of every 15 PLAYERS I know 1 player nearly exclusively, and only 1 out of every 30+ PLAYERS I know actively uses more than 3 players.
You are both very foolish. But I still like both of you immensely! Don't ever change, your innocence is cute.
Shhh, Leebs. If you told them about St. Jimmy, aka [ad nauseam], their heads would explode.
Do those numbers also count characters that are on trial accounts? What if you only include people in player guilds? And then divide by 3 or so?
Vendetta is nowhere near as intricate as Eve
Disagree. In Vendetta skills matter, making it even more intricate.
