Chainfire 101

Sep 10, 2009 Arnotio link
Hey boys and girls,
I've been reading up on aliases and binds but it's still greek to me.

I'm on a mac using CH fighter stick and CH pedals. Have them working just fine.
What I am looking for is a Chainfire set up that allows me to pull the trigger
and fire left then right side nuets. Not both at the same time.

The Chainfire aliases I've found are confusing and the ones I think I understand......Not.

I did see a reference to a chainfire gui but the link is dead.

Any help? Pleas and thank you.

Get the Toaster Crush Suite (formerly known as Pirate's Toolkit). It contains a very good cfire-bind writer along with some other useful things. It can be found on the wiki plugins page.

The way that the TCS chainfire bind works is that you assign different weapons to the same trigger in different weapons groups. The bind cycles through the groups while holding down the trigger.

If you're only using two ports, you shouldn't need a chainfire bind at all to chainfire. Just bind on port to firing one neut (either one, I prefer the right because the left is the usual default when out of energy, good to have some way of firing either one individually) and the other one to firing both of them. When in combat you can either fire them the usual way or you can fire the secondary port (the one that fires only one of them) and immediately (as in as fast as you possibly press it right after pressing the other) start holding down the primary port (the one that fires both at the same time). Voila. Chainfire. You can also accuse other players of being robots if you use this method.

bind left gun to left mouse button.
bind right gun to right mouse button.

OMG There's a plugin to dodge rocket fire?

Actually it's a bind, Leebs.

/alias rocketdodge '+strafe'

/bind <KEY> rocketdodge

Now you can just hold down <KEY> when you need to dodge rockets. It's so simple! ;)
