Why dont nukes destroy mines??
I can take out almost all teh ships with nukes, but a little mine, which dies after 2 or 3 ion shots, lives! wtf is up with that?
I thought they did, at least for the past few 3.2.X releases.
I thought the general consensus is that they don't, but it's hard to tell for sure. I'm not sure if the splash from any other rockets sets off mines either. But it should! The nuke has "de-mining weapon" written all over it.
Currently, if you own the mines then the splash will kill them, otherwise it won't.
I've had people demine my mines using sunflares, so yes the splash of sunflares does take out l-mines effectively. I think nukes should too, even though they don't right now.
Huh...I swore that was mentioned as a bugfix a few releases back...guess it didn't get fixed after all.
You can't same-team demine. In other words, mines aren't susceptible to friendly fire. But if a red lays 500 l-mines just outside s7 station a blue should be able to take them all out with a nuke.

Note, however, that you cannot at this point in time.

Taking mines out with nukes is the same as taking them outw ith sunflares isnt it? If your blast radius hits someone (goes beep) any mine in that radius goes boom.
actually it doesn't as of right now. Nukes appear to be the only(?) missle weapon that doesn't trigger mines.
nononono, screamers, avalons, jackhammers, and flares do not take out mines UNLESS you get a direct hit, then they will only take out the singke min they hit(not to mention the single mine will take out other mines within their explosion radius.
But l-mines don't take each other out. And l-mines are the most common mine used for flag defense/station mining. Splash damage needs to kill these things!
Not true...several times if someone bunches all the lmines really really close together just one hit on the group can make them all explode.
Happened before when we were trying to cap red's flag. They must have put a good 200mines so very very close to the flag. Then when I fired into them the entire mine field cleared out. Of course there was no golds left to try to take the flag at the time so :(

Linked l-mines are close enough to eachother to take eachother out too. If someone is dropping them two at a time you only have to shoot half of them. : )
