I've posted a link to vendetta-online with the words "best space shooter" on my rank 5 IT Forum and News and Gaming website at www.zona.ro
I will also post a second link to whomever will do the same as I did: post a link to vendetta-online.com with the words "best space shooter" and reserve a link to whomever agrees to the same, right after him.

Just use this thread to "register" as the next in line and let's see if it flies and for how long. I would estimate that if all active players do it even without necessarily having a rank 5 website, in a short while vendetta should rand first when searching google for "best space shooter" and the like...

This is great and all but you probably should have consulted the devs.

Um, I happen to not agree with viral campaigns like this... but, um, why should he consult the devs? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's their game, but people are welcome to discuss the game however they like on the intarweb...

I don't think you can control this kind of thing all the time, so I disagree with both the OP's "hack" to make vo the "best space shooter", as well as the first responder's philosophy of dev control.

I don't think this is a good idea. I have several top 5 ranked websites. There's a reason for it. They get high rank for having content relevant to their search terms. If I placed your text and a link it wouldn't increase vos rank much at all but it would defintely affect the quality of the search itself and ultimately HURT my site rank.

For me vendetta online is The "Best space shooter", so while i agree with your arguments on ranking and stuff, I don't think they are applicable here, except for the second link that i offered. Maybe! So i won't do that because there is none, but the "best space shooter" stays!

ratonu, I was thinking the same thing as you, though more in a social media aspect as well. Those who say "sites are top 5 for a reason" here have no idea what they are talking about.

If I was going to get VO ranked for anything in G, it would be "Escape Velocity" or "Freelancer." But that would take a little work and time. This game is amazing and entirely accessible to a large audience, but there's not nearly enough people playing it. They need a good marketing team and a bit of SEO to get their memberships booming.

Fortunately I'm a freelance consultant if the devs are interested... :)
