What seperates this game from Eve Online? I've never played either but before I try I would like a bit more information about the game that seperates it from Eve :)
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Also I have another question and I would rather not make another forum about it so, Where can I read up on being a Pirate or the opposing force who kills pirates (guessing military pilot) or anyone willing to mentor me in either? not sure if the mentor thread is still active or not.
Thanks in advance.

EvE is point and click
VO is twitch
VO is twitch
Anything else? thanks for the reply crazyspence.
VO has a simplistic interface, EvE has (or rather is) a spreadsheet interface?
But seriously, there's alot more content and stuff to do in EvE, or so I heard. I fell asleep trying to get through the EvE tutorial (twice in fact, no joke). If you like playing with spreadsheets, and you like space, you'll love EvE. If you like flying, and you like space, VO is the place to be :D
(oh btw, you don't actually fly your ship in EvE, you click a spreadsheet to tell it where to fly to and watch it go! like an interactive screensaver, if you're into that sort of thing.)

I'm currently downloading the game, thanks for your reply :) my brother said he basically fell asleep in eve aswell.
All these people are wrong. EVE is freaking awesome! Im playing it right NOW and Im doing lots of awesZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
troll or sarcasm?.... either or that post was uncalled for :/ I edited my first post with another question I have about Vendetta and would love the help :)
Oh that barely counted as either trolling or sarcasm here, and anyway it was a joke that was not directed at you.
You can log on and do the tutorials to get the basic lay of the land. After that, you need only ask around to get a mentor. Don't try to be a pirate right away or you'll starve. Do some trading or mining, kill some hive bots, get your licenses up, get plenty of cash on reserve, fight some live pilots, and THEN think about being a pirate, anti-pirate, or something else entirely.

Thanks Whistler :)
Hmph, these darned kids. Back in my days, we were told jokes and we GOT 'em.
Ba humbug!

After you get about combat level 4 you can come down to grey and ask around for some pirates to mentor you. My character's "Chaakin Tockoa" and I'd be glad to teach some newbie pirates, but there are a lot of other good active pirates to select from. Off the back of my hand: Azrael (my guild mate), FusionBurn, TheBlackFlag, cloaked, Ardenus is pretty new to the business but he knows his stuff, Vskye, and pretty much anyone with a CLM or Syn tag.
The Anti-rats are most often under the tag VPR, they are very good fighters but let's face it... Being a pirate is so much more fun. The plain "combat pilots" are a broad group but the others I haven't mentioned yet are anti-Hive pilots who fight the drone menace that we all know and love (like botting on Orun Collectors but replace those with Hive Queens, the colossal Leviathans, and large skirmishes with humans versus fighter Hive bots like Valent Assaults to take sectors one-by-one... fun stuff!), and Nation combat pilots. The Nation combat pilots, or military pilots, often fly for either Itani or Serco or very very rarely UIT (they mostly just try to stay neutral and make hella-cash). The guilds for these pilots (most commonly ONE for Serco and SKV for Itani) are usually very well organized, big, and fun to participate in. You can join the fight on the GR-Deneb border which implements the very first dynamic warfare in the game (you can actually take sectors officially) and feature constant capital ship battles and fighter skirmishes or you can go around the back end through Grey space and participate in the community event called Nation War which is basically a team elimination-based skirmish that a lot of players often show up for. You can also do things like CtC (Capture the Cargo) which is something along the lines of space CtF. There's a lot of stuff for nation pilots to do and to find out more I suggest you contact one of the guilds mentioned above (SKV or ONE)... But still... Pirating is just too fun.

@shanktank cough cough how quickly we are forgotten
What the fuck is wrong with you? GO PLAY THE GODDAMN DEMOS YOU LAZY DOUCHE. Why are you asking other people to take time to summarize information that is readily available to you? Pure douchebaggery.
Piracy? Anti-piracy? Ha. Try to figure out which end of the ship goes forward first. The last thing VO needs is another half-assed pirate.

I think the real difference is the community. EvE's is made up of fat gamer nerds, while VO's is made up fat gamer nerds whose first step in any game is to ask stupid questions on the forums.
I suppose it's our own fault for having people willing to respond to the questions, no matter how stupid.

yes :)
see that warmachine, thats a troll. thanks for the clarification Lecter, your a scholar and a gentleman.
I do my best. But the points I trollishly expressed are quite valid. Every time I see a post like this, I have the urge to find the offending slug of a human being, flay them alive, and then roll the loud, flailing, squishy result in a generous spread of rock salt.
Playing the game until the differences become really clear takes time, quite a bit of time in the case of some content differences. Asking someone to write a couple of sentences summarizing isn't unreasonable. Plus, it's not like people have to respond, if they don't want to.
Welcome, Warmachine. Don't mind the trolls.
[EDIT]: It's also a way to test the waters of a community and see how friendly and helpful people are. Or, you know, if we're a bunch of trolls.

I actually kinda like the trolling. Sometimes, if a thread is uninteresting (yes, I know that is hardly possible with VO..), I'll check it if one of our resident trolls has posted.
Trolls are cheap entertainment but entertainment nonetheless.
