The Dau-odia route as it is is pretty good. Maybe tweak it down slightly, like a Centaur mk2 load of turrets instead of an atlas X load for 2mill profit. It'd help if the turrets were more massive aswell, it is currently way too easy to run around with 30-40 of these things on a ship.

yes and it had the effect of getting the rats to come up to dau and quit being such lazy bums.....

pakettle, how about you try as uit kos, pirating in dau, once youve tried it a bit i'd like to hear you opinion

Hmm, you can regulary find me in Dau, and if the Devs take off me what I made selling turrets that I found I might just cry, of course, I don't mind the small bit I made (about 2.5 million) actually buying n selling em though...

What was the profit per CU for the broken route?

Well done Incarnate. :)
My money is gone and I am poor again. As it should be.

It was a rare opportunity for other players to actually see me in a behemoth - trading. Fun from those few hours spent "trading" still remains. :P

Aye, 'twas good fun. Most of the weekend you couldn't see the docking bays for xcs anywhere in Dau. It was a nice preview of what it could be like if we ever get a decent population going.

Hell, system chat was actually coming into its own. And I got to chat with people I...otherwise rarely see in ships without guns :-)

And I got a nice screenshot of a really impressive bank balance :-)

[EDIT] Oh,and we need Traffic Control if we ever hit it big

This bug made pirating incredibly fun over the last few days. It actually made raiding Dau worthwhile. Under normal circumstances the turrets do a good enough job of making UIT space too risky to go there.

Trying to shoot down a speeding moth full of turrets doing a Dau-Odia run was also an interesting experience. It made keeping around a group of 5-7 people to stalk one moth a worthwhile activity, as well as trying to sneak the said moth past the group of pirates.

Fun as it was, this bug is obviously not sustainable - soon all traders would have enough money to not bother trading at all any more, what would all the pirates do then?

Strat it was an obvious bug, everyone that was trading it new it was a bug and i even said u realize this is bound to be reversed and they still traded it just for screenies

Awwwww, as a pirate I have to say that this was a very fun time. Grey space trade routes were booming and there was almost too much prey. I guess it was a little inflated, but you've gotta keep some good Dau-Odia commodity like this, or anything that has to be run through Grey. I actually thought it was a purposeful move by the devs to fix the grey space economy for a while. Most fun I've had in a while.

Confirming that some of those who traded turrets did in fact face consequences. I know some people benefited from this route. Anyone else lose money?
Jun 09, 2009 yodaofborg link
I lost some money that I found, but my experience with the turrets was kind of funny, cos I lost a load of the ones I payed for shooting myself into a station with the shield gun, and then *found* some in another sector.

I think I lost about 350k in total, but then I didn't really try to exploit the turret selling bug, I did not report it because various people in-game reassured me that they had already reported it. Seriously, if you find a serious exploit in-future, raise a support ticket.

Creating a support ticket is the best option. All Guild members are notified when a support ticket is created but the support email only goes to a couple of us.

are you also reverting or planning to revert trade XP and trade badges that were "earned" as a result of this bug?
Jun 09, 2009 JJDane link
Unfortunately no trade xp for gun running, AFAIK.

less work for the devs if that's the case

so bug forum and bug submit post is the E file-13?
Jun 09, 2009 incarnate link
No. They just aren't checked every second, especially on weekends. Customer Support tickets send an email, like Ray said.

Do NOT use support at guildsoftware dot com. That is deprecated.
