Greetings!

I was a newb, many many months ago, and enjoyed playing VO very much, however, when i asked, "So, if your rich, what can ya do?" and got the response, "Well, you can look at all the pretty zero's in your credit space." I was kinda saddened by that fact, It made me feel that pirating was the only way to have "fun" and be "successful".

Now that i've returned, i wanted to ask if that's still the same way, either it's been made better or worse. Now if my noobishness demands for a right good smacking, feel free, otherwise, please comment.

Well, high end ships are a lot more expensive these days, so that's a quick way to spend money.

Other than that, looking at the pretty zeroes in your credit space is sadly still your best option for money based light entertainment.

Changes are coming,though, and significantly faster these days than they used to..

Another thing is you cant just bulk up money doing nation space escorts. If you want the high paying escorts, you have to go into grey now.

So, really there isn't anything to spend on until the dev team releases something?

What are some of your goal ingame? Something you want to accomplish? Surely it has to be something of awesomeness, why play it elsewise?

Killing traders.

PvP combat is what keeps most people coming back. Fighting is fun. We play the game to have fun. However, pirating isn't really the best choice if you want to experience PvP combat. Real pirates spend most of their time chasing targets that have no real chance of fighting back. You can become a nationalist, an anti-pirate, or just a plain PvP'er. Regardless, there are lots of ways to have fun in this game that have very little to do with money.

Ride around in someones moth and provoke people into attacking by shooting them without obeying the pilots objections!

Without the pirate, there would be no anti-pirate! We are valuable to the economy since we provide ship salesmen with new customers constantly.

If i still played, I'd start asking the salesmen for a kick back!
