Do any of our Mac users still use OS X 10.3.x?

Our mac development environment is going through some transitions, and we'd like to know if, or how many, of our users are on OS X 10.3.x? We usually try to provide as many compatibility options as possible, but as a result of some of these changes, supporting 10.3 may become quite a bit more inconvenient (we aren't sure yet), so 10.4 might become the minimum.

Anyone have any feedback on this?

I use Leopard. I know a bunch of people still use Tiger (though mostly those people have work computers set up by their IT department etc), but no one who uses Panther (10.3.x). 10.4.x seems to have become the standard minimum requirement for software... I couldn't imagine someone doing much on Panther these days.

My oldest Mac uses Tiger, and it's over 6 years old now. I still have its Panther install disks, but the last time I installed Panther on it I discovered just how much is now unsupported and how many features of the later versions I've come to take for granted. I would think you could drop support without too much hassle at all.

I use 10.4 ( i think) but definately not older than that, i don't mind if you drop the minimum to 10.4

I have 10.4.x on the iMac that I haven't turned on in 8 months.

Drop 10.3.x if you need to,I say.

10.4/10.5 here. I wouldn't be opposed to dropping Panther support.

My mac Dual 800 won't run 10.5. I simply can't find 10.4 - they don't sell it any more. Please keep 10.3.9.

missioncreek: there are several retail copies on Ebay..

Anyway, please continue with the feedback.

The last time I even considered running Panther was on a G3 clamshell laptop... I went with Tiger instead.

And that BARELY ran VO at 8fps, with everything at minimum or 0, so...

Also, if you need to buy 10.4 : http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Mac-10-4-Tiger-VERSION/dp/B0002G71T0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1241682067&sr=8-3

None of the 5-6 Macs in my house use Panther, and about 95% of the Apps I use aren't compatible with it. I don't think it'd really be a loss if support for it is discontinued.

Using 10.5.6 on my VO machine. The oldest Mac in my house runs 10.4.11.

Unless you want to count my Newton MessagePad 100. ;-)

Dropping 10.3 would be fine by me. Both main machines run 10.5.

My current set of Macs runs 10.5 and 10.4... unless one counts the old 165c which is running some version of MacOS that's probably older than Ecka's cat.

Dropping 10.3 is fine here.

I have one machine on which I play vo that is still on 10.3.9. It will be more than a little amusing if VO ends up being the reason I finally upgrade.

I have a 10 year old G3 Powermac running 10.4.11 (not playing VO on it obviously) so anyone running panther still is clearly a lunatic and therefore it can be dropped!
