I coulda sworn that the updater didn't show anything about this. I thought it was purely server-side?
The fact that there's no client update doesn't make it any less of a "release", for us. We updated the motd on the client last night when it happened. During the restart.
Fair enough, missed it none-the-less! Good on yah. Nice release :)
Awesome update.
Great! Now hire a modeling guy, and I'll never leave ever again!
Seriously, stuff is starting to happen now. Impressed.

Someone has to say it so here goes.
With this new ship out it makes everything that has been done in the past, present and future on the superlight a mute point because why go through all the lengthy BS to make one superlight when you can buy this new rust bucket?

How so? The Greyhound is a very ineffective PvP ship. The superlight is quite adept in this role? Not to mention that the superlight has zero large ports. To say that this is a cheap and easily accessible version of the superlight is wrong.
...everything that has been done in the past, present and future on the superlight...
Are you inferring that the Devs have time travel abilities?

The superlight is pretty dramatically different.
I've been lobbying for a cheap and accessible version of the Superlight for about a month, and I can say, without any doubt that the Greyhound is not anything like it.
Cheap accessible superlight?
Umm, IBG, Rev C?
Those are ships i'd take instead of SL, not Greyhound.
How is it even similar?

How much does the SL cost because the Greyhound costs 100,000c :(

A "mute point" would be a point you keep to yourself. A "moot point", however, is something debatable but inconsequential, which is what you were trying to say. Neither one really applies to your argument. The confusion between "mute point" and "moot point" seems to happen a lot.

Bravo Devs! I especially like the corvus FF zone. If I can figure out how to make some credits with my pirate alt, I will enjoy using the Greyhound!
I like the update put i dont love it. I know CtC doesn't matter to most of you but am i the only one who sees the problem. Both sides can no kill their transports and deliver the cargo themelves. It changes the whole game.
I would suggest: Nation NPCs should always have FF on. (Especially CtC ones) No one should ever be able to destroy their own transport.

Why not? If you want to take the faction hit and deliver the cargo yourself, who cares? It's actually more player involvement in CtC.
No magical shields!
"No magical shields!"

Lecter has a good point, there is that faction hit. I'd imagine after losing enough faction you can't deliver the goods anyway.
I wonder how difficult it would be for the devs to put a condition into CtC to make the convoy defend itself against anyone who tries that; or a temporary KoS so that if you killed your own transport, once you make it to your destination you can't dock but a strike force kills you and takes the cargo.
But if it takes magical shields to save CtC then CtC isn't worth saving. It is fun, though; on the rare occasion that I manage to play, I definitely participate. Eventually it would be cool to see CtC replaced by a true dynamic economy that demands the transport of cargo from one point to another in order for stations to continue functioning, and interception of that cargo has real consequences. This would be a moot (not mute!) point then, since CtC would then be merely an aspect of regular trade.

Not to burst anyone's bubble about how CtC is supposed to work, but back when SCAR was trying to actually win this thing, we'd routinely use UIT/Itani friendlies to pop our own voy and deliver the cargo ourselves.
Trusting it to a bot voy is just plain dumb, at the very least until much later in the week. Faction hit and having the escorts shoot back are both no-brainers. Magic shields are always, no matter what, bad. They're especially stupid where there's a simple workaround (i.e., employ non-Sercos).
