Besides, if you're in a Greyhound, too, you might be able to catch a a Greyhound using flares. Fight fire with fire? It'd probably need a two-stage chase, valk and greyhound. And some experience, as well as a well-synchronized wingman team.

Concerning the FF restrictions being dropped from Odia, is this something that will be announced, or will it just "happen"?

What exactly do you mean by "announced"? Isn't the newspost an announcement?

Among other things, you can expect to see friendly-fire restrictions dropped from the entire system of Odia.

This would imply that at the time of announcement, it hadn't been dropped. So basically I mean, when it is dropped, will there be a further announcement, or will it just be quietly implemented without any fanfare of sorts?

Drop it in Sedina too.

I'm assuming FF will be dropped when the update occurs, Gav. And yes, Bractus, Odia, and Sedina all at once would seem like a better test bed. They're core Grey systems.

I'd hate to be hunting a fellow Serco's moth, only to lose him because he made it out of Odia with 1% hull.

Snax: Generally, we aim to do most changes on Friday evening. The newspost was in advance of that.

Fair enough. I guess I was just hoping that maybe this would be one of those server side changes that didn't require a release.

Must say this is one of the things I've been waiting longest for :)

I also agree with the statement that it would be best if there were a core of systems affected, instead of just Odia. Would probably get a better feel for how it would affect the gameplay overall.

I'm looking at possibly expanding it to more systems.

It is the sort of thing we could do completely server-side, but the release is still going to coincide. It's good for testing purposes, it's also good for marketing from a certain point of view (sites like MacUpdate and Freshmeat and such tend to accept aggregations of changes, and dislike a single change here and there).

Yay Greyhound!

Now, if only I can find a way to get in game this weekend.

Shadoen, get resubbed :)

Sooo... dropping the FF Restrictions from Odia (AND Bractus AND Sedina) seemed to have been done sans release and sans fanfare! :P

Good to see though. Definitely, in my eyes, one of the biggest moves forward to date!
