Newspost Updated. Now bojan can yell about how I never get anything done on time :).

Not the greatest news, but steady progress. This would be one of those "reacting to the unexpected" type circumstances. Ships becoming embedded being one of the undesirable symptoms.

Military rankings sound... just awesome...

Heh, actually this is a good "down to earth" post, Weak Link. :)

One thing still bugs me about priorities.
Why is BS more important then New Faction System/FF redux?
Imho it would be wiser to drop in New Faction System/FF redux and let players fiddle with it in the next couple of weeks: changing factions, deciding on which POS to keep/drop, getting used to FF, etc.
If dreaded Murphy is nesting in BS, fixing that could take a lot of time and putting all resources into getting him out of there could bring your development plans to a crawl.

Wow, I like the idea of having a military rank to boss some NPC's around! Great ideas!

/me approves all in the newspost

now this is the reason I came back!
not just because I will finally be able to be
colonel kernel.panic, but because this group of developers really care about their subscribers.

it makes me feel bad that Inc's whole newspost seems like an apology. i've been playing again for only a few weeks and have seen 3 updates already. that's nothing to be sorry about.

thanks for the newspost and keeping us informed as well as you do. keep up the good work!

Glad you guys like :). Perhaps I do come off too apologetic. I dislike not making goals that we set, but.. sometimes it is reality.

Bojan: it isn't really that one is prioritized over the other, it's that I was trying to "pipeline" both at the same time (see the previous news post). Michael has little or nothing to do with the FF/Faction changes.. that's mostly Ray's code, and it's scary code that Michael doesn't know. So, Border Skirmish was a way to keep maximizing Michael's productivity while Ray and I work on the FF/Faction stuff. Plus it brings about appreciable "new stuff" changes in the game.. you'll probably recall some drama a month or so ago, from vets complaining that for all the fixing and changing, there wasn't enough new content. I do try to get as much new content in as I can, given the availability of resources at the time.

It's just a project-management thing.

Good newspost!

As I've commented in the past, knowing what's going on is a lot better than being in the dark -- most of us understand about debugging/production issues.

Even though I, too, like new toys with which to play, I prefer innovation to content and am willing to wait for it. Being kept informed makes the waiting easier, though - thumbs up on newspost.

If we get another guy who can be your graphics artist, that would be great. But for now, this will have to do.

Heh. A lot of things would sure be great, yes. I do the best I can, with the resources I have, and will take advantage of other resources should they become available. Like.. always.
