Sedina b8 happened on its own because of its location, and has sort of grown into the unofficial arena of this game with it's own set of etiquette, kind of like a skate park. It's probably not the best place to go just to rack up PKs. If you're interested in learning how to fight, it's a great place to go and watch others until you build confidence. But if you start shooting people randomly the crowd could turn against you. One tip I can give you is never to run from a fight you started... if you follow this rule you can get away with a lot in b8 and you will earn respect.

A good way to start a no-holds barred fight is to pick a wormhole sector at random in greyspace and claim it for your own on channel 100. People will show up and challenge you, then you don't have to worry about rules... earn PKs any way you want to, after all you were there first. This will not make you popular, but at least it's not in b8.

Another way is to become a pirate, of which there are many in the VO universe. I'm sure one will show up in this thread sooner or later and tell you all about it.

Also note that if you engage in piracy or wormhole camping, you could very easily end up at war with several guilds or become KOS with the Vipers. We work hard at training in PvP and are dedicated to hunting pirates. There are also several pirate guilds, some with codes of honor.

So in a nutshell, it's not something that comes quickly. PvP in Vendetta is easy to learn and takes a lifetime to master. If you want to become a PvP veteran my advice is not to worry about PKs, hang out in b8 and watch the pros, get them to teach you something, and join a guild. Take it one step at a time.

No. You don't get anything. Who cares? Money and equipment really isn't the big issue in this game. Its your piloting skills. Just because you have a Ragnarok and swarm missiles doesn't mean you instantly win. In fact, you won't win. Guarenteed.

PvP is really only done for the fun of it here. If you don't like it, tough.

And for the love of god, man. You have plenty of time to type this stuff out! TYPE OUT YOUR GODDAMN WORDS!

Can anybody tell me what the Sedina B-8 etiquette is please.
Having attempted to fly through Sedina B-8 last night, I can only assume that entering makes you fair game for shooting at, even if you try to run :-)

Actually B-8 is the place to go for non pirate PKs too. Most of my PKs came from fights there and I am no pirate. There is usually some one there who is not from your nation. All you have to do is ask a person who is not of your nation if they want to fight. Then all you have to do, is kill them and you have some PvP, no duel and a PK.

Normal Sedina B8 etiquette between two friendly pilots is to ask for a fight, then once they agree, hail before you attack, continue fighting until one of you dies, and then say "gf" afterwards. Do not interrupt fights already in progress and do not run from fights before they are over. Also, don't using homing weapons. With this set of guidelines, everyone has fun and there should be no drama. However, it doesn't always happen like this and sometimes you can't follow B8 etiquette exactly in every situation. You'll learn the exceptions as you gain experience, but for now, these guidelines should get you started.

I just started PvP as well and must say I had a good time last night in B8. I don't know too much, but from my time there, duels tend to be very respectfully taken out though there are a few people you learn to watch out for.

One additional rule not mentioned-- don't be a whinner. You're only asking to be griefed and there are plenty here that are willing to give you extra grief (myself included) if you fill 100 up with emorage nonsense . Oh and don't be afraid to die. It's going to happen, so just accept it, deal with it, get even or ignore it.

But yes, B8 is fun overall. I think I got 3 kills and more deaths than I can count last night but I learned a lot so it was a worthy experience.

Go anywhere there's another ship.

Shoot at it. If it shoots back, try not to get hit.

Repeat the above actions until you get the idea.

Dueling is a good way to learn the ropes, though. A few friendly spars with a veteran pilot can do wonders about teaching you about the finer nuances of combat (in ways that shooting bots can't compare to).

You get skill and respect if you win.

Or heckled and ganked.

Depends on the group of friends you hang out with

I like to shoot folk as they undock, before they have control of thier ship, that way I always win.

Addendum: Do not expect others to behave fairly, or act according to your own standards. To expect this of others is akin to taking the first step into a bog: You can't get out, and the more you fight, the deeper you sink into it.

Additional thought: If you are an enemy ship (Itani), and a Serco is sitting in B-8 don't just expect to be able to stroll on lazily through in your ship (no matter what kind) -- you are the enemy and hence open to fire.

I'm UIT so does that mean i'm pretty much neutral?
Feb 28, 2009 Dr. Lecter link
No, it means you're pretty much fair game for all.
