You've told me one of your alts and then there is the obvious ones like chewbacca...oh waits i should not have outed you!

but seriously, no one tells me your alts, but you have told me in pm sometimes and i keep it on the downlow. I understand why some people don't like playing their mains anymore and it is nice to take a step back out of everyone's view.

[edit] the alt that was outed stayed mostly out of people's way. But people tend to go find you to start trouble.

What the hell good is a character ID for finding alts? All it shows, really, is how recently the character was created (since the numbers get bigger as time goes on. "Incarnate" is charid "2", for instance).

Yes, guides can see who your root account is. Who cares? They aren't revealing anything.

Mecha, I sincerely doubt that any guide or magical alt-finder data-mining project had anything to do with your alt being found. This sort if issue, historically, comes down to player behaviour or indiscretion.

Seriously, people, this is not some NSA black project. Can we dial down the melodrama a little?

I'll dial it down when i can actually play the game without the information whores on my back all the time. So until, sorry if we don't see eye to eye but that is how it's gonna be.

[edit] and you don't seem to get it. all my alts are mecha and thats all people care about. It's fine when you can make alts and people don't care and just leave it as that. Not fine when people look for them and then tell everyone it's you because this isn't a perfect little community and then everyone holds it against you and counts you as your main. At least for me, I hate my Mecha character and make alts to get away from it but people just don't drop it.

Then make better alts. Maybe, just maybe, the "information whores" have no special magical ability, and you could have been more careful.

You think people's behaviour doesn't complete change if they know who I am, in-game? No, they aren't hounding me over some drama, but I suddenly get inundated by a bajillion messages. I have to basically infiltrate my own game.

Anyway, I really think all that is useful has been said, and this is beating a dead horse. Good luck, Mecha.
