Changelog:
- Jettison menu now shows the best price for each item in the current system and what station it's at. It updates once a minute and when you enter a sector or launch from a station.
- 3D render distance has been reduced to 20km from 60km to speed up rendering of large sectors.
- Additional voice chat connection information is printed to the console.
- Corvus stations now show correct license requirements for ships.

I'm REALLY liking the jettison thing :D
The render distance has made a few sectors look a bit... Funny.

That's sitting right on the wormhole in Odia B-13, and that cluster of Ice 'Roids was easily visible from the wormhole before the update. The Asteroids are roughly 20km from the wormhole. (Graphics set to Maximum on my machine)
Perhaps changing it to 30km or 40km will fix the look of sectors with asteroids way off in the distance. Or even giving users the option to set the draw distance.

The clipping plane was always 20km until it was accidentally changed in late 2006, due to some other code being reworked. It was never meant to have changed. I'm sure it's made a number of locations look different, some have very long asteroid chains. However, the 20km limit is needed for future "more than one station in a single sector" type usage. It's not just about draw distance, it's about network traffic, and the server-side scale of awareness for each user.
darkangeljas: You've missed it completely. That has nothing to do with the draw distance, that's ether an unannounced new cloaking device still in testing, a fold in spacetime, or someone's surrounded those 'roids with a "somebody else's problem" field, causing your mind to mostly forget about them, figuring they're somebody else's problem. A less observant person would have put them out of their mind entirely.
Apparently there's still an issue with mining in Production. We'll try to get that fixed today. Sorry.
Now that's an update.
it looks dumb and very silly now.
stuff beyond the cutoff appears behind radar screens and such... minor bug
Dumb and very silly now. That's as unhelpful as it is redundant.
I am getting a serious drop in fps when in a sector that has a station which grows worse the nearer I get to the station
I am dropping from about 100 fps to 10 fps when docked.....30 or so during approach.
new with .54
commenting on self evident redundancy is well.... redundant?
