Voice Chat
I meant to post about this yesterday. Voice Chat was down from early on the 12th to late on the 13th, but has been fixed since then. Sorry about that, it actually wasn't our fault at all. TeamSpeak sorted it out quickly and we should be solid again. Actually, nothing to do with their server code either, just a silly licensing issue now fixed. A minor hiccup that comes with the territory of being an early user/tester :).
I can see people have been using it since, but just wanted to post for anyone who had the impression that it was generally "down" or some such.

Thanks for letting us know, Inc. Quick question: is there a reason why voice chat stops working during Nation Wars? I posted about this in the Voice Chat feature thread but I think it might have gotten ignored, cos it's a stickied thread in Suggestions and heck, I often don't even glance at those. A couple weeks ago during Nation War about 75 people total were on, and Voice Chat wasn't connecting for a lot of people. This seems to happen whenever lots of people start using VC at the same time. Obs mentioned a 100-connection limit on the server, but with only 76 people on that doesn't seem that likely in this case. Any input?
No, there's no reason why this should happen. Please let us know if it happens again (make a thread on Bugs or some such). There is no 100-connection limit, it should be more like 1000.
This has happened like clockwork at every recent Sunday Nation War I've been to. My schedule currently doesn't allow me to participate in them, but if you looked in at around 3PM CST on Sunday, that is the most likely time for this to be happening. If I see it happening at other times I will be sure to report it.
What do you mean by "Connect", exactly? Can someone who has experienced the issue please post exactly what it is that you do, and at what point it doesn't work?
Please also confirm that VC does work properly for you at other times.

As of the last update, there are a couple of messages that are displayed in your chat log when voice chat is enabled.
You should see
"Connecting Voice Chat."
and
"Voice Chat Connected."
in your chat log and an additional message
"Voice Chat Connection Established."
in your console if everything goes right.
Then you should see
"Voice Chat Disconnected."
when you are disconnected by leaving the group.

Thats cool. I think I can make it this weekend, but I had no problems connecting. All the same, I think it is fair to check on it, or have a monitor on the chat server during the Nation War.
@raybondo:
yes, i noticed, good touch.

@ray: Yeah, I really like that new functionality, it's been extremely useful, thanks!
@inc: Voice Chat works for me almost all the time except for these situations (when it doesn't work it's related to problems you've announced). Here's what happened to me two Sundays ago (January 4, before the new Voice Chat messages were implemented): I logged on for Nation War, joined the first Serco group, and tried to use PTT to talk to the other members. Nothing happened, the speech icon didn't come up, and nobody could hear me. Others in the group said they had Voice Chat active and were talking to each other, but I could not hear them. I tried turning off PTT, then turning VC itself off and on, to no effect. I restarted VO and rejoined the group, then a different group, and in no configuration did Voice Chat work. From other people's comments, there were several others who were experiencing similar problems at that time.
As I didn't try to use Voice Chat until I logged on maybe 20-30 minutes before Nation War, I can't tell exactly when it stopped working, all I know is that from the time I logged on until I logged off some time after NW, Voice Chat did not work for me, nor for many others, though it did work for some others.
And just to be clear, without changing anything in my config.ini or anything else related to Voice Chat I have been able to connect perfectly since then. I hope this information helps!

Ok, well, I'm curious if it's related to the other problems we had, since fixed. Let us know if it happens again this weekend. We'll be trying to watch it as well.
