Dissapearing money
I was on this afternoon while SF was giving away money. I had won mill and went on with life. Later the server crashed. When i came back all the money had gained was gone and i was a mill poor than before. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this?
the problem seemed to be contained in sector 7. it's like sector 7 became detached from the rest of the Vendetta universe, twice. all i lost was a sunflare launcher from my hornet.
ya, i still want my mill back
If you got your million and then never left 7 or didn't dock, the million was not "saved" to the server. It's always wise to dock or jump after a big cash windfall.
but i was docked when i recieved the money
Apparently it only saves your data when you jump or log off now, i spent 4000k on a battle in s7, then after the server crashes, i am back up to 9000k. I liked that cause i got my fun for free!
Hmm, the devs will have to answer that one. I wonder if the act of docking saves it, but once in dock no further save occurs.
wouldnt make any sense, since BB still has all its money, and he's crashed many times....
Ok, the stuff only gets saved when a player warps or loggs off.
If the client crashes, it then basically times-out and automatically gets logged off. If a player crashes and then logs back on, the server basically automatically logs the player off and then back on, thereby saving the stuff. (however it's not actually exactly like that but I don't feel like going into any more detail).
That is why we come on and tell EVERYONE to log off when we are ready to release an update or want to manually restart the server for any reason. If you were afk, then too bad. If you were idle just to gain the points from flagcaps, then too bad. Log off to save your stuff.
Yes, starfreeze exploited this and managed to double his money. That is a bad thing and we will figure out a way to prevent that in the future.
