As a quick poll, how many people would like to see a cross between the nation war and the Ultimate Wingman Tournament? Basically, each guild would enter their best 4 (maybe 5?) representatives to participate in matches in a double-elimination style bracket. Each guild would have to pay an entrance fee, (or not, depending on how generous TGFT is), from which the prizes would be derived. How's it sound?

[EDIT] Also, sorry for the double post, but apparently no-one reads the Community Projects forum anymore. [/EDIT]

PA respectfully challenges SKV's statement.

If people want to set a definite date/time, I can potentially advertise the event in the first newsletter. Would Saturday be reasonable? (Also, if any other specific events are planned for the immediate future, let me know).
We do want a definite date but not necesserily in the immidiate future, i'd say at least two weeks from now, to let guilds prepare.
You might wanna put the time for different time zones in that mail Inc. I have mistaken myself more than once with the time an event starts. I can imagine (hope ;) ) that I'm not the only one.
I'm hoping to host a DR this weekend, internet connection permitting -- there have been some bad ice storms recently at the place where I'll be staying over the weekend, so as long as the power + internet keep working...
Because people may not have extended blocks of time available to participate, I was thinking something more like the tournaments we had way back when. Basically, referees and guilds would have to arrange the matches at a time convenient for all participants, and would then report the results on the forums, where the host would update the bracket. This way, it might not be quite as exciting, but there would certainly be a higher attendance.
Course, makes sense. Won't be that easy to get two guilds in one place at the same time, not to mention more.
Well, if there are any upcoming events with fairly specific times that I can post (and I'll probably use GMT and CST or some such), please let me know today. Thanks.
Nation war rings a bell...
To be precise, 151st Nation War, Sunday, 21 Dec, Sedina D-2, 21:00 GMT (15:00 CST).
89th Midweek Nation War, Wednesday, 24 Dec, Latos D-2, same time.
(if I've gotten either of those wrong please correct me, but I believe they are correct)

@Niki... maybe if we decide to get ingame again...
Actually, kind of a guild wars would be good.
There would be no need for events like this if... we had a real serco/itani war going on.
That RP part of VO is still nonexistent.
And again.... Inc... at least give us akanese faction as a means to force factions into some good old war fun.

It's not nonexistent. Pretty much the only unscheduled furballs that happen anymore are in Deneb, as a part of or growing out of Border Patrol. It's a ton of fun, furballs are one of the best parts of the game, and they serve the RP war rather well, I think.
hmm, would you consider scrapping the guild aspect of this and allowing groups to organize along whatever lines they wish?
