Hi folks + general query

Hi all,

I know there are plenty threads with help which I am currently reading but I was thinking of starting a subscription pretty fast , its just Im looking for a decent space game, tbh I have a med/high end PC but graphics mean nothing to me anymore :) , just looking for plenty of space quests, and a few surprises along the way and Im curious as to what the game has to offer, Im kinda just looking for things from a "player" perspective, just really anything you can tell me about the game, you see I think I will enjoy the game initially but what kind of stuff is there to do when people get to medium high levels? (BTW just started playing elite 2 for the first time)

I realise this isnt that a great question , its very broad but I just dont want to after a few weeks have hit major flaws in the game, I played eve online and I did like it to a point but I dont like the time system, I mean a balance has to be made but I think players should reap the rewards of hard work so long as its not through botting and deflating the whole market so that actual games players and not RL currency traders can enjoy the game

I have actually played many games but honestly I wouldnt waste time listing them all :) It would take to long but I dunno Im trying to find this kinda niche game thats got plenty of stuff to do, plenty PVE and also sensible PvP which actually has a point to it, outside killing some unemployed person sitting at a gate 24/7

So what do you high end players get up to on a daily basis?

Yeah no doubt :) , I figured this would be quite a PvP centric game, just hoping if I play it will be enjoyable and that "eventually" I get good enough.

BTW nice little scheme the vendetta online site has going, I aint sayin to much because I want other newbies to actually get a chance at what I have got! First time I have ever signed up for something like that and it hasnt been a scam. Yeah Im talking in riddles here :) but from what I have seen on this site and the fact the limited offer isnt all done means that its actually getting to new players which means I have no excuse but to play now and I have alot longer than expected!!

I'm not really a "player perspective", being the lead developer, but higher level people tend to either get really into trading or really into PvP. Big battles like Border Skirmish and Border Patrol and such are also an attraction. Player-run Events like Nation War and such seem to be popular as well.

The game does have flaws, but we work on fixing them and expanding things in releases about every week.

Thanks :) , really appreciate your reply! Its kinda late here so I am just sitting reading the forums, trying to make best use of my trial, gonna jump in tommorow.

I think I will want to get into PvP at a later date, sounds fun .

In fact what the hell Im gonna jump in now and do the tutorials :) . Im in 2 minds whether to select a combat orientated Nation but on the other hand that will be a batism of fire I guess hehe

Thats cool about the bugs and that you folks are always working on them. Im kinda just looking for a change from whats out there anyway, and its funny I seem to be not appreciating what some off the bigger publishers are putting out at this time, I play evochron renegades and alot of offshoot/unique genres these days.

I watched a friend of mines play a trial on this at his house not so long ago so I know the newbie start tutorials, well they look awesome, so I think I will end up subscribing for a bit.
Anyway just off uni so just needing somewhere to chill for a bit over christmas and newyear! Cheers all!

Genka is our resident troll and court jester, so his comments are to be taken with a grain of salt - though sometimes he has startling periods of lucidity (this isn't one of them).

Most of us, when we begin a new character, take missions in order to gain access to the batter equipment. Then we trade for a bit to amass a large enough fortune so that losing the occasional ship isn't very painful, and then we go on to develop combat skills in order to gain access to the better weapons. After that, we PvP or continue to amass wealth. Some of like to join the Border Patrol mission. There's always piracy to fall back on.

Personally, I had to grind a lot (of nutmeg!) to get to the batter equipment. Silly elitist bakers making the newbs do all the leg-work before they get any dough.

Yeah yeah. In my defense, I was on vacation and hadn't typed anything in over a week.
