Let's help VO with some buzz!
Looking at the VO download page on http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=18405, I saw that the most recent review was from July. Let's add a few new reviews to let potential players know how great VO is.
Hrm. I'm not sure they want everyone going off the reservation at this point. Let's see what their campaign is on Dec 10th.
Once we know their marketing campaign, then we can go push this thing.

I was under the impression Incarnate wanted as many players as possible at this point... Am I incorrect? Incarnate? I was about to make some forum posts to help advertise the game...
I'm cool with it, if people would like to post reviews where-ever.
Incarnate clarified in-game that he would like us to wait a few weeks for when he introduces some "new player" stuff before we "open the floodgates".
Vendetta Online just surpassed 20,000 downloads on macupdate.com!

Woohoo!
/me did his duty to his country.
I too have proudly rambled like a lunatic and heaped praise upon VO!
"Bow down bow down...before the power of Santa! Bow down bow down, or be crushed...by his jolly boots of doom!"

Does anyone happen to have a canned review that is fair and good for VO that I could randomly spam here there and everywhere?
Am wondering if the floodgates have already been opened. This is the first day of the promo and the population has approximately doubled already. Granted that might be a short-term gain but it is very promising.
This might be the chance to break out of the catch-22 of a small user base (as in: "Not enough players. I'm leaving."). If the devs are confident that the new player content will be in this week and the faction/economy changes will happen soon enough to keep the interest of the new players then *now* would be the time to really make a push for both new players and older players who may have left earlier before the current wave ends. Just some mind-gristle to chew on.

devs, i think it's time to send that email to all the existing user-base (and i mean mostly for inactive players) saying some stuff about where Vendetta is right now, about the promo bringing more people in-game, and this way maybe get them to resubscribe for a while (or for good).
just take advantage of the small hype we have with this promo and try to keep it up.
I intended to bring and keep my char in game the whole day to increase the stats, but it just happens i also played for most of the time.

I know, guys, I've been pondering doing the first mailing-list usage with this promo for at least a month. Right now I need to get some additional servers ready to make sure we're good for this weekend.
I may potentially send out something next week. But probably not this week. I'd like to see how many people show up over the weekend. Our mailing list has like 40,000+ functional addresses. Coinciding timing is good. Crushing ourselves is Not So Good. Plus, I also want to do some promo stuff for the list, like giving old subs a free week or some such, and we haven't done the database changes for that yet.
Anyway, perhaps next week.

81 players on a Thursday afternoon thats awsome. I hope we can keep some of them please!!!!! It would make a great christmas present.
sounds like a plan, incarnate. looking forward to see it unfold. I would probably not be too bothered by an occasional server unavailability but new players may be put down. on the other hand it looks like a good opportunity to test your cluster capacity.
In the past days I also brainstormed on a crazy idea for a potentially dramatical twist (as addition, not a change) for where Vendetta could go as a mmorpg, so I'll navigate the suggestion forums to see if it was already brought in and rejected. If not, I might send you an email instead of throwing it publicly.
I would guess this a period of an all time low in regard to the number of new payed subscriptions coming in, on the other side you should know you've made a lot of people happy, and I mean existing subscribers, not the ones taking advantage of the promo.
keep up the great work.
