*** Vendetta 1.8.51
- Pixel shader 3 capable hardware now renormalizes normal maps at render time and does not need to renormalize normal maps at loadtime.
- Removed 'Renormalize Normalmaps At Loadtime' Video option for Pixel Shader 3 capable hardware.
- Increased server capacity.
Yes, I know, the announcement came to Twitter 44 minutes ago. *shrug*

Textures in Itan J-11 look good on the "bone" roids.
Hi All .. this may help some-one. During the update patch to this version I had two "Blue Screen" crashes.
I thought it was my hardware ethernet card ... but no it was no hardware issue.
I uninstalled vendetta reinstalled then let it patch at the end with no problem.
Running XP Home sp2, with reasonably gruntie graphic card.

Well it runs fine for me.
However the recent updates have made vendetta crash a whole lot more.

The VO client basically cannot make your system bluescreen. Anything like that is due to a hardware or device driver issue specific to your machine. No userspace application should be able to make a computer crash like that.
It is possible for the newer texture updates to "push your machine" a bit harder, so an overheating videocard problem could be exposed when it wasn't previously.. but none of that would happen while you're simply updating the game. If the game updater causes your computer to bluescreen.. you have bigger issues. Our program may be the only example you've seen that exposes the problem, but that doesn't mean the problem is with our program.

On my system, when VO is running the CPU is at 100% even when it's just sitting waiting at the login prompt.
Yes, that's how a lot of games work, VO included. It has always used 100% of a CPU, but not always 100% of the videocard. It now pushes the videocard a bit harder as well, if the texture settings are turned up all the way.
Thanks, I had been wondering if that was normal.
got myself a new laptop, can't wait to try it on vo..
