How to Jump correctly
Could use help as I am confused as usaul. The tutor told me to make sure I fly 3000m away from launch, and hit jump. Then I have done missions where it calls for a few jumps, and there was a target I guess you go to,correct,or do you get speed up and just hit jump.Anyway I would fly to this target and try to jump and it would say not enough energy.I guess I am confuseing everybody now,but the main thing is do I just get up the speed and hit enter when it says to. Sorry for being so sorry on this subject
Energy in your powercell is what is important, not speed.
As long as your powercell has at least a 25% charge and you are at least 3000m from the nearest large object, then you should be able to jump, regardless of your speed. You jump just as well at a full stop as you do at 200m/s.

Thanks so much as I was wondering sometimes I would be stopped and still jump. Thanks again for the quick response and easy to understand explanation.
No McFly, you have to be going 80 mph to jump!
No, it's 88 mph, and you need at least 1.21 gigawatts!
And a DeLorean!
And plutonium... or a Mr. Fusion.
Or a steam-powered PRR locomotive.
Also, the 25% charge only is valid for intra-system jumps, just for the sake of completeness. For inter-system jumps, you require a full charge (but the HUD will tell you that automatically).

Or legs.
Y'all forgot about the flux capacitor. Its what makes it possible!
Did we forget about the ponies?
After all that's why they call it "horse" power.
Dang nabbit, all you need is a phone booth! Don't go confusing the newbies.
