VO 1.8.39
- Station cargo limits reduced from 200,000cu to 10,000cu. People with more than this will be unable to offload more items on stations that are over-capacity. Short-term space (docking, etc) is unaffected. While over-limit, new ships can be purchased by selling the Active ship and buying a new one. Station cargo expansion space will be purchasable next week.
- UIT-hated or KoS personnel may no longer dock with stations of any faction in UIT Capitol systems (Dau, Arta Caelestis).
- All Nation Capitol stations now have defense turrets.

There is currently an issue with purchasing addons that would normally be autoconnected to an available port.
If your station storage is full and your ship cargo is full (or doesn't have enough empty cu's to hold the addon being purchased) then the client erroneously says that your storage is too full instead of buying the addon and having it autoconnect to an available port.
Because of this bug and the facts that power cells are 3 cu and Vulture ships only have 2 cu of cargo space, players will be unable to purchase a power cell for a Vulture if their station storage is full, making the ship useless in this rare circumstance. There are other circumstances as well, but this is the first one I came up with.
I am working on the bug and a fix will be out asap on Saturday.

In addition, to reiterate, expanded station cargo space will be purchasable next week. It was intended to be part of this release, but ended up being more complicated than expected, so it's been delayed a couple of days. FYI.
2 steps forward and 1 step back is still a step forward - 2 on Saturday.
Hmm, it also means that if stored goods are > 10 k you cannot select a larger ship on arrival at a station .
For instance , I arrived at a station in a 'taur , went to ship > manage >select and selected an XC . The message " Station error , your storage is too full " is returned.
I assume that there is going to be an indication of available capacity and purchased capacity on the welcome screen or anther tab in station ?
This is going to make shifting inventory out of overfull stations interesting ...

davejohn: You should be able to *sell* the currently active ship, and then switch to the XC.
Anyway, Ray's going to try and fix it in a few hours.

heh , NP , I'll just shoot stuff for a while .
Wait, you can shoot stuff in this game?
davejohn, that'll only be fixed once you can rent more storage space. The problem is that your current usage would still be greater than the current allowed usage, even if you switch to a smaller ship. But even if you still have more than the rentable max, then the problem will still be there. There's nothing that can be done about that.
This sounds neat. Storage limits in-station means all those trader-types will be rearranging their goods for the foreseeable future... moving expensive behemoths around with their life possessions...
Smells like... opportunity!

Aye , but the problem will be fixed when rentable storage comes in Raybondo , so we can live with it meantime. Just have to set up a temporary combat base since my main one is locked up.
Theoretically I could get ships out since if one's main base is also home station then /explode would release a ship . But, er, thats not my way .
Wait till next week . I'll rent Sedina . And Odia ......

Ecka, don't you have enough credits to buy Sedina? And Odia.
Ok, the 1.8.39.1 update is out that fixes the problem with purchasing addons that autoconnect to empty ports.
Thanks!
...All manner of underground activities take place here under the baleful eye of the mysterious Estenk, the little-known enforcing overlords of Corvus Prime.
Let us know when we can once more unload stuff above the 10k mark. I'll log off for now
Should be out tonight <fingers crossed>.
