Well, I don't want to make border defenses too difficult. I will have something on the inside.. probably a capship with a strike force or some such. But I actually want people to be able to pass through these borders if they have the guts (and skills). Inner layers (say, at Capitol systems) will be stiffer.

I don't find two layers of turrets excessively difficult to negotiate. I don't expect anyone in a light fighter would, though, I could be wrong..

Pointsman: Have you flown through Verasi O7 from Edras? Just making sure you've experienced it..

I could probably do it too, but some of the missiles are pretty vicious, and part of it is dumb luck on where you emerge on the other side (you can die right after coming through). I would probably die a certain percentage of the time, based on the random emergence point. Assuming doing it alone, with no one else to distract turrets.

But, I'm sure you guys are all a lot better than I am. So, I guess I'd appreciate some overall feedback on the difficulty of coming through Edras->Verasi with a UIT Hated character.

Only tried it once. Was dead before I finished the jump into Verasi from the missiles. The fact that they often, but not always start firing as soon as the jump in process begins makes it difficult. Best solution I've found is to take some 'friends' with you to make the turrets sort out who's who before they start shooting. This won't work as well with all the new turret positions because its going to depend on how close you land next to the wh. If I jump in say at Ukari going to Initros with a voy and I'm still 5000m out, I'm hoping they aren't gonna fire too many missiles. The guass is bad enough. I normally get nailed by the guass on the jump out of the sector.

I went from verasi to edras to an empty sector and back again in a vult3. I'll try it again a few times to rule out luck.

[edit]
Yes. Not luck. I even managed to make it through a couple times in a taur3...
