I mean, I have been subscribed maybe twice in the past year, and am currently unsubscribed. Why is there a special thread? Alot of people I see on the forums are just biding their time, sitting unsubscribed until the promises are fulfilled.

I'd re-subscribe, but I don't really have the time at the moment to be zooming around in digital-space-world. Plus Ye olde computer (2001 G3 iMac) isn't quite up to VO these days. Maybe in a few more months when a new computer can be bought, more time acquired... blah, blah, blah, I'll be back soon(tm). For now stalking the forums is it.

It looks like VO is really coming along! Best of luck devs, it seems that you're on somewhat of a roll now that the developator(?) has been replaced. The new faction/ship/galactic war/expandability plans look excellent. Keep up the great work!

Well i kinda made this thread because some people haven't been subscribed in a while and things have changed since they ran out... so it would be hard to talk about the current things. Do you follow? Heh, apparently since i have been gone (me being Ostan-Be Ralel) they have made another ship called the Aeolus Light Behemoth! Boy, what we've all been missing out on...

How, exactly, is it difficult to read the forum and post in the relevant threads?

Well, I'm subscribed, but not playing! So nyah!

I would like to keep playing but have decided it would be to large of a distraction from the upcoming school year. See you next summer (or maybe some long break)!

Is it really any harder to post in the relevant threads than clicking on the "reply to this thread" link in the threads in question?

Not at all. I'm suggesting that perhaps they discuss the "current things" in the threads that are about said "current things". This thread belongs in Off-Topic as it isn't really about VO so much as it is about people who are unsubscribed for one or more reasons and aren't going to be resubscribing for others. Hardly something that should be on the "General" forum.

But, I agree. It's kinda random. Like wearing wetsuits to a public event in Nevada.

Anyways, I guess the question is really, how long is a topic of such nature gonna stay alive, and once the topic get really big, new people won't want to read all of it to understand the topic. So it'll become the same people talking. Which makes a topic (or several) in "Off-Topic" slightly more appealing.

I'm still subscribed, but I'm not playing all that much. I really wish the username "Phish" was open. Oh well.

I guess I just dont understand why people complain when someone makes a cheerful attempt at doing something 'nice' around the forum that they get told they shouldnt do it or it doesnt belong, not by the devs but by other members. With all the bs we see on these boards I personally enjoy seeing people post just to say hi or to check in and reconnect.

As was stated before, if you don't like the thread or want to be part of it ...just ignore it and don't post. Seems pretty simple to me. I have seen ALOT of threads posted here that I thought didn't belong or that were of no consequence to me, but I didn't feel it was my place to tell them not to post it. I glanced at it, decided I didn't agree and/or didnt want to be involved, so...tada... I didnt get involved and ignored it and eventually it went its on way. And ya know what? Didn't hurt me a bit at all...they got their thread, it lived its life and that was that.

One of the most awesome statements ever in my opinon and could be adapted to the idea of this thread with a couple changes:

**I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it.**

For VO:

I may or may not agree with the posting of this thread, but I shall defend your right to post it
