Nothing huge visible yet, big stuff coming though. Will make a newspost next week.

Heres hoping that the big stuff isnt background changes. Not that I got anything against that but I prefer visible stuff.

This week had some background work towards pretty major visible stuff, like restructuring the contents of the universe (number and layout of asteroids per sector, ore/minerals within asteroids, adding new asteroids, adding new ores/minerals, all part of the greater push towards Manufacturing [crafting] of capships and other stuff).

Oh, cool; so you're saying that asteroids and stations are going to be orbiting planets in real time and able to float between sectors and split into smaller random asteroids when you shoot missiles at them? Sweet!

Exactly, except for the stuff you said.

Wait... does that mean that my small targetLS "database" of asteroids might no longer be accurate and valid? Scary.

Yeah, it does look like our top-secret roid maps may be outdated by these future changes. Hopefully, it won't be a complete remixing of the galactic ore, in that if we found an ore in a sector before there will still be ore of that type in the sector afterwards. I wouldn't hold my breath on specific roids being saved, but just knowing that "X ore is in sector Y" is still a great leg up on remapping.

As for the good Professor's speculation... I heard a rumor that a dev got drunk at a bar, and as the pink elephants danced on stage he blurted out the details of the revamp- we'll not only have all that, but we'll also have missiles that shoot bullets that shoot more bullets that shoot sharks with lasers on their heads. To allow us to survive in this bullet hell, the hitboxes on all ships will be reduced to single pixels. Also, to broaden appeal and draw in more gamers, all ship models will be replaced with images of lovely ladies in frilly dresses and funny hats. I would have found out more, but the oddly smelling hobo who revealed this to me had to hop back in his magical shopping cart and fly off to the fifth dimension to fight the rampaging space hamsters.

I deny any and all involvement in any "so-called" space hampster incident.

Indeed. TGFT has spent years collecting large amounts of trade and mining data, but a lot of the fun is the collection of that data. Exploring the universe is enjoyable, and any changes which move vo forward are welcome .

Go for it ...
