I was able to acquire the soundtrack from the game, or at least i believe so.

Correct me if im wrong, but there are 12 tracks.

3 for each race ('race' main theme, 'race' space station, 'race' empty space), 2 for uncontrolled systems (empty space & Space Station), as well as the main theme.

Is this correct? If anyone wants more information on where i got the OST, message me.

You ought to be cautious, as some of those tracks belong to Strategy First.

It is a start no? If anyone anywhere knows of a more complete compilation, do tell. I knew not of any other means of acquiring the tracks. Accept recording in-game audio.

Are some of the tracks available on disk or DD? If so where can they be bought. Why does it seam that a legit release or form of these songs simply do not exist anywhere

Legally speaking, it's legit to get it from the gamefiles...They are giving the game out for free, after all. You just can't play on their servers without paying :P

You can play any of them ingame with /playmusic command
eg. /playmusic music/menu.ogg

not trying to imply anything but, im sure if you search on some seedpeer based website, you may happen to find something.
