Firstly hi all :) Just wanted to post to say hi and that I think I will be subscribing to the game if its good :) . I am 28 years old and have played many many games but lately I am loving space games which actually was a genre I didnt like as a kid. I now like X3 , love independance war 2, I can also see why people like eve having played it for a while but I think I am looking for a game that involves skill out with just a persons lvl.

I have been spoiled with great graphics which has made me realise the importance of gameplay and Im looking for an open ended accesible space MMO to call home :)

I would have just left my intro as the above however having read one of the threads well I have to ask a more serious question, if I pay by credit card are there enough measures in place so my card details are safe and secure on the registration servers? I am into Software Development so I know nothing is truely safe but I just need to be sure I am dealing with people at the other end who will respect my privacy and are trustworthy + the cards arent easily hackable so that my savings are nuked.

The thread I read was very honest which is great and doesnt affect me , I appreciate the honesty but seriously myself and my family aint rich and we couldnt afford a scam :). I appreciate what was said regarding the fact you didnt learn about writing games to deal with those hassles and I can totally empathise with that, I guess it comes with the terrotiry with the fact yes the web is great and free but that has a negative effect of being ripe for abuse by malcontents. I hope you are managing to get that side of things sorted and aside from this, your game looks dam good!

The credit card subscription URL should start with https, and if it is, then yes, its fine.

To tell the truth, I don't understand why people are so concerned with internet money transactions. Its just as safe as a physical transaction, if you know what you are doing (keep your spyware protection up-to-date) If you're that concerned, then scan your computer before putting in your details.

Been here 3 years , no problems at all with cc payment . Its the internet , never say never , but the devs here try very hard to keep it all tight .

Cool yeah I use spyware detectors and virus scanners and more than one of each, and other utilitys, yes Im paranoid well actually its because I know theres people out there who can hack machines irrespective of whether they have keyloggers and what not. Its cool though its just and this applies to any firm, I just like to at least think Im dealing with trustworthy people. I dont think theres anything mean or wrong in asking about security, it is an area thats readily exploited, heck I fix many PCs, I am obsessive about using spyware removers and what not but 99% of machines I have fixed up have had some spyware on it. Its pretty hard to browse the web for more than a few days and not get some company try to leech some sort of information of you, sell it on or worse things.

So Im not trying to be akward its just I know of people who have been victim to fraud and it wasnt down to spyware on there end it was owing to an insecure company server which now uses a totally differant credit card system.(Nothing to do with this place though :) ) This is why I asked.

I see what you are saying though spine :), i.e stay of the porn and alike sites and you should be fine for the vast majority of the time hehe. I can accept this and I didnt know you could pay by cash here, will see what happens , the card is way more convienant but theres so many degenerates out there lol. I also appreciate what you are saying ingoguy15, its all good.

Anyway in regards to the game , REALLY like it thus, far, great guide, the plan was to subscribe to this or jumpgate but this seems to be presented 10* better thus far which is testiment to the devs. Seems fun! Has anyone here played both jumpgate and this game? Im just curious how they relate to each other in terms of content and end game, size if anyone knows?

I dont want to speak to soon either but I am online ALOT and I have never had any problems at all fraud wise but theres so many people apparently do have these problems, I reckon you can attribute 80% of that to negligence in regards to spyware, and virus scans but I dont think its always at the users end, I havent had any hassle and just want to do my utmost to keep it like that :) It means alot that you are saying you played for 3 years and no probs, thats great!

You should subscribe. For the cost of 2 extra-value meals at McDonald's, you get a months' worth of killing, trading, mining, and the best PvP known to mankind.

I've been around for about 6 years and have great trust in the honesty and responsibility of the developers.

Some of them come from the ISP world and are very much aware of internet security issues.

The CC fraud that occurred had nothing to do with credit-card theft from the game/site servers, rather someone used a CC to pay for the game, then charged back the transactions (pretending they never made them) or somesuch, which is a hassle to the devs, but not to us players (other then the fact it delayed some game updates).

Also, like drazed said, we haven't had an occurrence of credit card fraud related to our actual handling of numbers. Rather, we have fraud perpetrated against *US*. So, kind of the opposite of what you're concerned about. It has nothing to do with our end, it's people buying subscriptions and then deciding later that they would rather not pay for them. It's grossly illegal, of course, but a major hassle to pursue and more painful for a smaller company like us.

I always wondered how often fraudulent charge backs occurred. That must be an awful experience. I've only ever had to do a charge back once.

Appreciated about the link and moving away from the whole CC questions well Its great so many of you have been playing for so long! I agree the fees are very good! I will probably be subscribing at the end of today.

As mentioned this game is very very well presented, Im away to try and find out a bit about the sort of mid game activities as I get more experianced and would also be interested in peoples views on this game in comparison to jumpgate? Its hard for me to judge on the whole being so new but as for the UI, the tutorials and the initial presentation of the game , it wins hands down, really well thought out tutorials.
