sure. There is a news post in game with all the details but the basics is this. we get the haulers to pick up a trade item at the station, they have a group of defenders and they progress to gray space and battle the pirates as need be. the start and stop locations are safe sectors.

Usually have some npc's that are hostile and the escorts if they are doing their job right will protect the haulers from all of that since they are in the larger ships loaded with trade goods, in this case much needed specialty medical supplies.

http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/7/19235 this is the last one. The one tomorrow will be the same way, the route and items will change.

Aye , thanks obs , a fun event . the traders are going to have to buy a lot of ship paint....

Gah. The "Americas" pirate force was definitely NOT able to participate.

I suggest holding another event like this on a weeknight 5 hours later. Instead of Ecka complaining about some scratched paint, a group of trader next-of-kin would be blubbering over the blood-soaked broken hulls of their deceased cargo-toting relatives, attempting to match dental records with mangled crispy body parts. The paltry few survivors would gnash their teeth in frustration and despair, vowing to never again ply the spacelanes.

Hold something like this again when more than 2 pirates can participate, and we will gladly crack open your fragile ships like eggshells, suck the marrow from your splintered bones and revel in the orgy of destruction that you have invited upon yourselves.

So sayeth LeberMac.

Christ Leebs, how you've changed. I remember when you were jus' a wee lil' drunk Itani trying to stand (never mind stand up to the Sercos!)....

And shouldn't this be in Roleplaying? What's it doing in General?

i think it was at 4pm eastern us meaning everybody who actually has a job in the us, couldn't play.

Heh , It was me that was doing the scratching... just for fun.

Anyway, timing is always going to be a problem in a game that goes on 24/7 leebs . Hopefully as vo expands more people will run events to suit other timezones.

LNH: it was at 6PM eastern. (22:00 - 4:00 == 18:00.)

2200 - 500 = 1700 5pm eastern, just off the job then

I will use server time as the general reference rather than the time in the current place I am exisitng within.

The next convoy is set for Saturday at 11am CST (my anticipated timezone) also known as 1600 GMT (server time).

However I usually have to spend 45-60 minutes organizing the events ahead of the scheduled start time so if you are interested you can use IRC or one of the many other relay bots to contact me.

I shall appear in the universe sometime that morning.

There's unfortunately no way to get a time that would allow everyone to join. It's always going to be someone's shift, or middle-of-night. I'm in the same timezone as "look... no hands" but I've got no conflicts with the event time as I work third shift. Had it been held five hours later, I'd likely have to bow out, as it would be uncomfortably close to when I have to be at work.

There's only one method that would allow everyone a chance, and that's to move the event time around. Say, 22:00 one week, 16:00 the next, 10:00 the week after, 4:00 after that, and then repeat the cycle. It's not exactly practical for this sort of event since Obsidian is the only one I'm aware of that can run it, and we're thus at the mercy of the organizer's schedule. Unfortunately yet again, rotating the time makes it much harder to track when the events occur, and makes the "posts of upcoming events" such as this one all the more important. The only thing worse than knowing you can't make it, is showing up- only to find it's at another time that you can't make.

Ah yes, the time-honored problem of online gaming.

I look forward to the next regularly-scheduled slaughter. Thanks for giving out a timeline. Should I print up some "trader slaughter schedule" brochures, with routes and times clearly marked?

Obsidian, do I need a reservation to bathe the universe in bloody trader chunks, or is this a first-come, first-killed affair?

So Leebs, I thought it was aboot the liberation of teh cargoes. What's with this increasingly psycopathic single minded killing of traders?

Or is CLM's PR department having trouble keeping you cats on script lately?

And again... why is this in General?!
